The vines and flowers hung down from the balcony above mine along with the sound of the clinks of cookware. The roommates that lived above me loved to cook, leaving the door open to let in the fragrant breeze. As a painter, I left mine open as well to watch the breeze move the delicate vines that seemed to come out of the balcony itself. I decided to paint it today as I had run out of ideas for my art sale next weekend.

"You know, we should invite the beauty downstairs for dinner one of these days. I'm sure they'd appreciate it," a smooth voice says out over the canal.

"Maybe, but wouldn't they think it's strange for two men to knock on their door unannounced, and offer dinner?" a deeper voice responded in an almost mothering tone.

I chuckled quietly as I continued to paint the vines, adding in some gold tones for the evening light and a few lady bugs even though they weren't on the subject. The canal served as a perfect background to the green vines and the red and white flowers. Suddenly, a small purple rose fell onto the railing of my balcony. The way it landed perfectly was perfectly framed by the surrounding flowers, so I swiftly added it to the painting before slowly walking to pick it up.

"Scusa," the first voice called down. I leaned over my railing, looking up to see a beautiful man with golden hair, braided to the side and small rose-like curls on his forehead. "I know this is a strange question, but would you like to join us for dinner?" The light framed his face and his smile seemed angelic. I realized it had been silent for a moment before I answered.

"Ah, mie scuse, I would love to, but could I hear your name?" I smiled lightly, feeling some paint pull on my cheek. I must look like a mess.

"Giorno Giovanna. My friend, Bruno Bucciarati is also here," he leaned back and called into the apartment, "Bruno!"

"Cos'è ora? Non andremo laggiù a bussare alla loro porta-" He stopped as he looked over the edge at my paint stained face. His ink-black hair framed his face, two glittering hair clips standing out. I couldn't decide who was more beautiful, so I just decided that they were angels. Bruno's rich voice pulled me from my thoughts, asking, "Could I ask your name, amore?"

Amore? "(Y/n) (L/n), it's nice to meet my upstairs neighbors," I say with a light blush. "Sono contento di sapere che i miei vicini sono così belli." It was their turn to blush at my compliment. "I'll be up in a moment, I should clean up first."

"But I think that shade of blue compliments your entrancing (h/c) hair," Giorno hums, smiling down at me. I laughed lightly as I slipped back inside, leaving the doors open. I noticed the flower still in my hand and decided to place it in my hair, resting it above my ear. I washed my face that had a few spots of paint on it, and slipped on a pair of black jeans and a purple button-up, matching the flower. Carefully stepping up the stairs I found their door, knocking lightly.

"I've got it, Bru-" Giorno seemed to halt completely when he saw me, making me second guess my choice of clothing.

"Should I go change?" I asked, concerned.

"No! No, you just look so amazing my brain stopped for a moment," he said with a wink and a smile.

"Giorno, let them in already. What's holding you up?" Bruno asked, coming around the corner with a towel in hand. "The table's set so why are you- Mio Dio, you look breathtaking, (Y/n)." I turned bright red at the barrage of compliments.

"Well, Giorno dropped the flower on my balcony to get my attention, so I figured I could wear it. It helped me finish my piece, too." I smiled, tilting my head.

"That's where I've heard your name before! Giorno, let them come in already," Bruno gestured for me to come in. "I knew I had heard your name somewhere before. I guess it was on the posters about that art show!" He smiled at me and pulled out a chair.

"I was thinking, while I was talking to you downstairs... Would you mind being models for a few of my pieces before the show? I've been struggling with inspiration and it seems you two have sparked it," I finish as I sat in the spot Bruno graciously set for me.

"It would be an honor! What about you Giorno?"

"I would love to, but first, let's eat," he chuckles, placing three plates of (f/pasta) on the table.

----------

The showcase had three pieces, "Il Giorno", "Il Notte", and "Il Balcone Sul Canale".

"Il Giorno" displayed a beautiful scene looking out over the ocean, with the subject being a blonde man in a black, three piece tuxedo holding a red rose looking out to the right of the viewer, all at sunrise.

"Il Notte" focused on a black haired man who was wearing a white, three piece suit holding a blue rose looking to the left. All of this at sundown over the city, creating a stark contrast to the first painting.

Lastly, "Il Balcone Sul Canale", is a painting of a single purple rose that, as the artist describes, brought them together with the loves of their life. It's beautifully framed by the golden rays, red and blue flowers seemingly trickling down from the balcony above, all looking out over a canal in the city.

[These were paintings I thought of as I wrote the original for this which was a whole book. I really wish I had the skill to paint these (>-<) ]
