Triggers: Swearing.

"Tru!" The fourteen year old boy yelled, fear and worry washed over his face. "You alright?" He knelt down next to the nine year old, who had tears in her eyes after falling off her bike. He and his two younger brothers were trying to teach her how to ride one, since she never learned how.
"I'm fine, Darry. I'm okay." She said, fighting the pain.
A ten year old boy came to join the conversation, and an eight year old closely behind. "Tru! You okay? That was a really really hard fall!"
"Yeah! That was GINORMOUS!" The smallest one cut it. "I learned THAT in school today." He added proudly. Darry chuckled, but it came out more as a scoff. Tru smiled. She was always thankful for the boys, and how much they cared about her. Even if they cared a little too much.
"Guys, I'm totally fine. It's just a scrape." Tru said, acting tough.
"I'm gonna get your mom!" The Darry said, running back towards her house. They all lived very closed together, and kind of grew up together.
Soon enough; Tru's mom, Florence, came running out the house, as Darry guided her towards the 'accident'.
"Tru? You okay sunshine?" Her voice was calm and soothing. It always put people at ease just to hear her utter a word. Florence cared for others, and put their needs before hers (Which wasn't always the best thing - but she made it work).
"I'm okay! Seriously, the boy are overreact-"
"Shhhhhhhh!" The ten year old testified, putting two fingers up to her lips gently. "Guys, she's in shock."
They all started laughing at the little remark he made, Including Tru. That boy always knew how to cheer people up.
"Come on, Tru. Let's go inside," Tru's mother announced. "I can make the four of you hot chocolate, and we can invite the other four over for dinner. How 'bout that?"
The little kids whooped, and hollered their approval, as they headed towards the house. Tru had forgotten she was hurt already.
"I'll call Ms. Curtis and tell her that I'm treating you boys for dinner tonight."

Tru's POV
(Present Day)
As I sat at the DX Gas Station counter, with a newspaper in one hand, and an apple in the other, a wave of boredom watched over me. I find myself looking at the clock most times, considering all the action is out on Good Ol' Tulsa, Oklahoma streets. 7:41 p.m. All I hear are 'mechanical noise' from time to time in the other room where people get their cars fixed.
You see, I work at a gas station on the side of the small town. Only reason people come here is to just hit on one of my co-worker, Sodapop Curtis, a friend I've known since two. Brown hair, brown eyes, and that award-winning smile.
I have to admit, he is very attractive. Like, the 'movie-star' kind of attractive, and ALL the Tulsa girls knew it. Soda was modest about it though, or just plain oblivious.
If you weren't here for Soda, you were here to get your car fixed, or came for the gas. Steve Randle usually did that part. He's actually pretty good with cars, it's quite impressive.
Steve was Soda's best friend, and I've also known him since grade-school. He also had brown hair, brown eyes, but he didn't share Soda's features. Steve had a nice build, don't get me wrong, but for some reason, girls just don't find him as attractive. Steve is used to it by now, and it doesn't bother him.
