Triggers: Swearing

Tru's POV

I spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out with Ponyboy. Johnny and Two-Bit also came to join us. Darry was on his fifth newspaper by then. I looked at the clock that read: 4:30 p.m.

I was getting a little sick of poker. Johnny had won almost every single game. It was a talent of his, really.

"Wanna get something to eat after this round?" I say out of the blue.

"Yeah, Dairy Queens or Dingo's, either one." Two-Bit added.

All four of us jerked our heads towards the front door when we all heard a slam. It was Dallas Winston. The one and only.

"H-Hey Dal'," Johnny said, his face brightened up. He looked up to Dally so much. I have no idea why though, Dally just gets into trouble.

"Hey Jawn-nay," Dally said in his thick, New York accent.

He was muscular, brown hair, and brown eyes that would pierce anything it saw. He was always getting in trouble, usually ending up in the cooler. He wore a leather jacket, and 90% of the time had a cancer stick in his mouth (which he did right now).

"Better put that cigarette out." Darry stated from behind me, not looking up from his newspaper. I kind of forgot he was there. "I'm not in the mood to extinguish this house if it catches up in flames." Two-Bit chuckled at the comment.

Dallas smirked. "Yeah, yeah." He mumbled as he threw it out the door behind him. "I was finished with it anyway."

"Wanna come get food with Johnny, Pony, Two-Bit, Darry, and I?" I asked Dally.

"Count me out," Darrel said with a sigh. I could tell he was frustrated. "I have to go pay bills. I've put it off long enough." He then walked out to another room to retrieve the bills.

I felt bad for Darry. He was only 20, and yet had the responsibilities of an adult. He's so over-looked, I feel. He tries his best to be a father-figure for the gang, and doesn't really get much of a 'thanks'. I made a mental note in my head to bring him food from where ever we went to eat.

"Where you guys wanna go eat?" Pony asked, looking up from the poker game.

"The Dingo's!"

"No way, Johnny, Dairy Queen's is way better!" Two-Bit exclaimed.

"Where do you want to go to Tru?" Dallas asked me.

"I kind of have a craving for Dairy Queen-"

"Then the Dingo's it is!" Dally said, interrupting me.

5:10 p.m.

When we got to the Dingo's no one was really there. Usually the place is filled to the brim with Greasers, but today just wasn't those days.

We all walking in, and sat down at a booth. I sat next to Pony and Johnny, while Two-Bit and Dallas sat across from us.

When our waitress came, she asked us what we wanted to order. We asked for 5 cokes, and 5 cheeseburgers. I made sure to add another coke, and cheeseburger, so I could take it back home to Darry.

The waitress had brown, medium hair, with barely a blemish on her face. She was beautiful, and in a red and white waitress apron. I looked up at her name tag, and read: Taylor.

"Is that it for the orders?" Taylor asked as she collected the menus. She looked straight at Dallas.

"Yeah, that's all, thanks," Dal' said with a straight face. He either knew she was eyeing him and didn't care, or was oblivious to the situation.
