Triggers: Swearing

"Please... take a seat everyone." Mr. Trumen said as the gang and their parents took a seat. They were all at the Trumen household, enjoying their evening with friends, when all of a sudden they were called to the couch for 'a talk'.

The Curtis', Matthews', Randle's, Johnny, and Dallas were all there; sitting on the floor, or leaning against the couch, anticipating what would happen next.

"What's this about?" Ms. Matthews asked. Her fourteen year old sat next to her, bouncing up and down on the couch.

"Well..." Mr. Trumen sighed. "We've got some... news."

"MRS. TRUMEN'S PREGNANT!" Thirteen year old, Steve, got up and shouted. "I'VE NOTICED SHE'S BEEN GETTING A LITTLE FAT AROUND THE EDGES AND-"

"Steve!" Dallas yelled. "Behave yourself! Let mom speak!"

"You're the one to talk!" Steve fired back. After Mrs. Randle shut her son up, everyone became quiet so the Trumen's could go on and talk.

Tru was sitting in the living room corner, back against the wall. She didn't want to cry, and she knew she would if she was next to the gang. She knew what her parents would tell them that night, and so she braced herself.

"Listen... uh-" Mrs. Trumen started. "I've known you all for so long, and you've made my life so much better. I wouldn't have been able to do everything I've done without you guys, and you're just like family to me. Family to us. My husband, and my daughter included." Florence started to tear up a bit.

"And, I-I- know that all of you feel the same way about us... You care for us, and you show it through your actions for us. L-Like the time you helped us pay for our leak in the house, and pitched in some money. Or that other time when my husband and I were working two jobs, and were in a rough area. You all helped babysit Tru when we weren't there, and loaned us some money to stay on our feet."

Tears were coming out of everyone now. Even Dally.

"And your children. I've watched them grow up, and I know this is crazy, but I see them as my own kids too. They've taught me so many things that I didn't even know! They accepted my daughter, Tru, and have continued to comfort, and be there for her, despite their ups and downs. Now, I want to be there for all you guys, because you're all family to me, and I know you have to find out now or later."

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis lowered their heads. They knew what was about to come, and they didn't want to hear it twice. Ever since they heard the news, they have wanted to spend as much time with Florence as possible.

"Uh-" Mr. Trumen started, after he saw his wife was choking up. "Just recently, a few weeks ago in fact... We got a phone call from the doctor..."

Tru covered her ears and lowered her head into her curled up knees. She couldn't hear it twice, let alone the first time. She closed her eyes for a bit, seeing the calm, collected faces of the gang and their parents for the last time. When she opened them back up, tears had formed in the once calm faces, and the sadness in the room began to spread like wild fire once everyone processed what they heard.

Johnny began to quietly sob, and Two-Bit began to hug Johnny, crying as well. Steve stood there in shock, staring at Florence and her husband, and the three Curtis brothers sank in their grief.

Dallas. Oh boy, Dally was the worst of all. That was his one and only mother, and he couldn't bare the thought to be without her. He ran - no - sprinted towards the woman, embracing her into a warm tight hug, letting the tears fall.
