A day and a half has passed since the Dark Day celebration and I haven't been happier. Y/N and I have only been growing closer since our mutual confession in the Elder Tree and everyone has taken notice. Boocifer even smirked and asked us why it took so long, to which Y/N promptly threw a small pebble at him while slightly blushing.

I only chuckled at the situation and lead everyone inside with Y/N by my side, holding my arm.

At the moment, Y/N is taking a lesson with the Six Queens and I have to take care of the many, many, pages of paperwork for today. But I still smile through it all, knowing that Y/N loves me.

Shifting through the paperwork, I take a sip of the tea that Jane left for me. When she dropped it off, Jane mentioned that Y/N was the one who made the tea. Jane took Y/N to the kitchen earlier to bake together. It's a sweet gesture, really and I'm happy that Y/N is enjoying herself here.

After about half an hour, I finish the last page and put it in its respective file.

I lean back and finish my tea, glad that my duties for the evening are over. No more paperwork, no more meetings, and trading with the Mushroom Kingdom starts in a few days. Not only that, my duties have been completed earlier than anticipated, thus, giving me more time to indulge in my beloved's embrace.

As soon as I can find her, that is.

The Six Queens have never told me where they take Y/N for her lessons, probably to keep us from distracting each other, especially now.

Deciding that I can wait for Y/N to finish, I walk over to my personal bookshelf and take off an old favourite of mine. A book about revolution and reinvention in an old Kingdom. I would like to read it in the garden while Y/N finishes with her lesson, she will find me when she wants to.

Smoothing out my suit vest, I leave my jacket hanging over my chair and walk out the door into the hall.

My walk to the garden is wrapped in a peaceful silence before I hear an all too familiar voice behind me.

"Hello, my King." Luciel floats up behind me. Today, she elected to wear a very form-fitting black dress that contrasted her bright pink complexion nicely. Her long, mauve hair is floating around her shoulders like usual.

I roll my eyes before turning to face her. "Yes, what is it?" The tone of my voice is flat.

Luciel's smile drops for a second but she quickly recovers. "I want to apologize for the way I've been acting this past week."

I raise a brow in suspicion. "Really?"

She nods her head quickly, her floating hair waving around frantically. "Yes! I want to make amends with you..." She trails off.

"And?"

"And I want you to give me a second chance." She finishes.

I scoff and turn away, making my way to the garden like I initially planned.

"Darling-"

"You will not call me that." I spin to Luciel, anger seething from my voice. "You have lost the privilege to call me that," I growl.

Luciel stands her ground and glares at me. "And who does have that privilege? The mortal?!"

I grin and look down at her. "Yes, actually. That and much more."

Luciel looks taken aback before she regains her composure, looking even angrier than before.

"You've chosen that good for nothing, suck up, human over me?!" She shrieks and the nearby, empty vase breaks by the sound.
