King Boo

"What do you mean she was kidnapped?" Mario questions me.

"I mean she was kidnapped, Mario," I say with as much restraint as possible. "Y/N was kidnapped the minute I left her side."

"So, it's your fault that Y/N is missing," Mario states, crossing his arms.

Before I can get a word out, Boocifer rises from his seat and glares at Mario.

"The King had no way of anticipating that this would happen," Boocifer says flatly. "We should honestly be asking you why you constantly fail to protect Princess Peach."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Mario growls.

"How many times has the Princess been kidnapped again? Twenty-three was it?" Boocifer snaps.

Mario glares at Boocifer. "All I'm saying is that King Boo should have been much more vigilant if he didn't want his girlfriend to be taken away from him, her being a war criminal and all." He hisses through his teeth.

"And all I'm saying is you should be just as vigilant, Princess Peach being a Princess and all," Boocifer retorts.

"That's enough," I step in, "Y/N is missing and all we're doing is sitting around throwing the blame onto someone else. Yes, I neglected to do all that I could to protect her and I feel guilty about that but we can not just sit around and do nothing about it."

"I agree, Your Majesty," Adam says out of the shadowed corner he put himself in, "Y/N is probably hurt and unable to move."

Adam returned this morning after Y/N was taken. We told him about her and her need to meet with him and he immediately wanted to aid her. He didn't just want to save her from whoever kidnapped her, he wanted to help her find his heir, the child of Bloody Mary.

"Or dead," Henry mumbles from his end of the table, souring my mood even further.

I hate that I needed to suck up my pride once again to ask for the Mario Brothers and Professor Gadd's help. Yet here we are, my entire council, the Mario Brothers, Elvin Gadd, and myself all gathered to figure out where Y/N could be hours after she was taken. I may not like Mario or Luigi, but they have their fair share of rescuing experiences. If anyone can help save Y/N, it's them.

"Let's just stop for a moment and think this through," Adam steps closer to the table and starts to pet a shaking Snare, whether he is shaking from anger or fear, I will never know. "Let's think about the best and worse case scenarios."

"Best case scenario is Y/N is alive with minimal injuries, she might be a little shaken up," Maya says thoughtfully as she writes down the scenarios. "Worst case scenario is Y/N is dead and her soul has turned into an Angry Spirit."

Angry Spirits don't sound too bad until you get a proper explanation. Angry Spirits can be created by three different methods and if they're combined then the Angry Spirit will turn into a very powerful Vengeful Spirit. The first method is if the mortal died with specific unfinished business, such as finding something they consider incredibly important. The second method is if they die a horrific death, the details all depend on what the mortal dying finds horrific. The third and final method is if the being responsible for the, now, Spirit's death was a 'friend' or someone they have hated all their lives.

"No," I interrupt, "Y/N would think of that as a saving grace. Worst case scenario for her is if she's taken back to Elemiras, alive, and forced back into chains."

The room is silent for a moment as everyone takes in this new information.

"...Y/N would rather die than be taken back to Elemiras?" Luigi asks after some hesitation.
