It was rare that Betty and Jughead got a moment alone at the Cooper household when Alice wasn't breathing down the back of their necks. Actually, they hadn't been home alone at all since they'd started dating. It was a miracle that they were both free one evening to be together, and Betty's parents had to work late at the register. It was perfect, actually.

Both of the teenagers had been stressing way too much over the Jason Blossom case, too much for their own good, so they'd both decided to have a stress free evening; no murder boards, no sleuthing, just them.

So it just made it even better that when they'd both gotten back to Betty's house that nobody else was home. Though they both still ended up in the private space of Betty's room, a place that Jughead had grown extremely fond of since he had kissed her for the first time between those four walls.

As Jughead took occupation on Betty's bed, laying back across it with a groan and a stretch of his arms, Betty crossed the space to her dresser on the wall opposite her bed, where a small white Bluetooth speaker sat beside her jewellery box. A soft smile crossed her expression as she connected her phone to the device and pressed play on one of her many organised playlists, the soft music dancing across the bedroom as a beautiful background noise.

When Betty turned to look at Jughead again he was still positioned across her bed, though his head was tilted so he could look at her, a fond smile painted over his lips. Even though they had been together for some time at that point, Betty couldn't ever get over the way he looked at her. The soft expression he wore only for her causes butterflies in her tummy and a warm feeling that erupted in her chest that only he could cause.

"Jug?" Betty smiled, and when he had hummed in response she just held her hand out towards him, making a grabby motion with her fingers until he had clambered up off of the bed and crossed the room to take her hand in his larger one.

She watched as it seemed to click in his mind why she'd wanted his hand, probably because she turned the music up slightly as she laced her fingers with his, but a fond smile once again appeared over his lips as he lifted their hands to twirl her gently, causing a giggle to leave her throat.

Betty didn't know if Jughead was a dancer or not; he certainly didn't look the part, and she hadn't danced with him before. So she was pleasantly surprised as the skill emerged as they box-stepped across the soft carpet of her bedroom floor, accompanied with twirls and dips that became more frequent as they became more and more lost in the music.

In the midst of the fourth track, Jughead dipped Betty with his palm splayed across her lower back and swallowed her entertained giggle with a kiss, before he hugged her back against his chest as soon as she was upright. They settled for a gentle swaying after that, her head tucked underneath his chin as they both loosely held onto each other.

"I didn't know you could dance." She whispered a giggle into his knitted jumper, and felt more than heard the chuckle through his chest in response.

"I'm thinking about taking it up as a possible career choice." Jughead muttered jokingly before he pressed a kiss to the crown of her head as his arms tightened around her slightly.

"Just as long as I can be your dancing partner." Betty whispered with a soft smile, before she giggled as his hand took her's to twirl her once again, resuming the surprisingly elegant dancing that made her beam with a fondness and adoration she had for only him, in moments like that. Pure and uninterrupted moments that only needed one thing to be special.

Them.
