Pansy woke up the next morning as usual. She was excited that it was Friday, she planned to ask her friends to go to Hogsmeade this weekend.
As she finished getting ready, she realized that
Cora had asked to talk sometime last night. She thought she was imagining it, but she thought that she should just check with Cora to make sure. She grabbed her belongings and made her way to Cora's dorm, knocking a few times. It was unlocked, so she opened it and peaked her head in. The room was chilled, no sign of human warmth. She walked in and felt Cora's messed up sheets, cold. Then she saw her wand on her nightstand.
She hasn't been in here for hours at least.
Where else could she be?
"Astoria!" Pansy screamed as she banged on her door. It swung open, a very confused Astoria standing before her. "Is Cora in here?"
Astoria tilted her head slightly, "No?" Pansy pushed her way into the room, sighing. "She's not in her dorm, and by the looks of it she hasn't been there for ages."
"Okay Pans, Calm down. Lets just go check the boys' dorm. We'll go down the hallway. Theo, then Blaise, then Draco. Since Dracos is at the end of the hall." Astoria planned, putting her hands out in front of her to try and calm Pansy down.
Pansy took a deep breath, "Okay, lets go."
It wasn't too early. The water from the Black Lake that squished against the windows of their dorms was visible now, indicating that the sun had risen. The boys should be up and ready for breakfast by now.The two girls approached Theo's dorm first, banging harshly. It opened casually, a very confused but dressed Theo on the other side. "Can I help you?"
"Have you seen Cora?" Pansy asked. "Not since last night in the common room, why?" He scrunched his brows tight, becoming just as confused as the two girls standing before him.
Astoria finished the story before Pansy could. "Apparently she hasn't been in her dorm for hours. She's missing.""Well, what do we do?"
"We were going to check the guys' dorms. So Blaise's and Draco's. And if she's not in either of theirs then we panic." Pansy explained. Unexpectedly, Theo started chuckling.
"I'm sorry, but I know for a fact she's not in Dracos dorm. That's absurd." He said in between laughs. Pansies harsh tone shut him up. "It couldn't hurt to try."
The trio made their way out of Theos dorm after he finished getting ready, making their way to Blaise's dorm. His reaction was the same, very confused. Then everyone started worrying, she wasn't in Blaise's dorm either. "Well where else could she be then?" Blaise asked.
Everyone thought hard, leaving a very awkward and uneasy tension in the room. "Let's check Draco's dorm." Pansy finally spoke up.
They all looked at her like she was crazy. She looked at each of them in the eye for moments on end. "Well? What are we waiting for?"
They all flinched at the sudden shouting, quickly realizing this wasn't a joke anymore. They all slowly made their way to Dracos dorm, Pansy taking the initiative to knock a few times.
No answer. The four of them sharing glances, she knocked again, this time with more force.
Still nothing. "Okay, open it." Theo whispered. Pansy whispered the spell, opening the door slowly. The room was still dark, the faint sunlight being the only source of light in the room. Blaise put his hand on the door, opening it fully so everyone could see inside.
