Another year at Hogwarts.
You would think after 4 years that you would enjoy the school.
But there were too many people here who felt as if they were superior to everyone else.
For example, Draco Malfoy.
My childhood best friend, now enemy.
We were inseparable up until 4th year, due to our parents are very close.
He dropped me out of nowhere. I spend most of my holidays at the Malfoy Manor, because my parents are always off doing a task for the Dark Lord, even though he's gone. Mostly to go searching with other death eaters.
All of last year, and this entire summer, Draco would either treat me as if I was invisible, or he was insulting me about anything, and everything about me.
My "boring brown hair." My "even more boring" brown eyes. How I was "too short" for his liking. I did grow over the summer. I'm now 5'5". He is now 5'10".
I grew tired of his insults very quickly. Jumping back at him with things like, "you're skin is so pale" Considering I am always able to tan very easily in the summer, and he stayed pale the whole time.
Or my favorite, "ferret boy." He hated that one. He would always stop right then and there if I came back at him with that.
I was recalling all the memories we had as kids. Trying to relive them almost. After the Diggory guy got killed, it was all-hell-break-lose.
I knew the Dark Lord was back. No denying. I however did read the Prophet over the summer. Minister Fudge telling people he isn't back is a good thing. The more people think that he isn't back, the more that he could gain power on the down low.
I hate the no-nosed bitch, don't get me wrong. But it almost felt right, supporting him. I guess that's just how I was raised.
I focused my attention back onto the memories with Draco and I.
I remembered when we used to go swimming at the manor during summer holidays, playing about for hours before Narcissa would yell that dinners ready.
I remembered when we would play in the snow until our noses went numb during winter holidays. Then go inside and drink Narcissa's amazing hot cocoa with marshmallows in it.
I just remembered being with him. Feeling like we were able to tell each other everything.
Best friends.
"C'mon Bentley, get out." I heard his voice.
I was sitting in a compartment alone in the Hogwarts express.
I snapped back to reality, feeling the nostalgia fade fairly quickly.
I looked at his face. His expression was unreadable, as always. "What are you talking about?" I asked.
"I want this compartment." He said, bluntly.
"Okay and? I was here first, and I'm not leaving, ferret boy." I said, looking back at the window, bringing my knees up to my chest.
I heard him sigh in frustration, before entering the compartment and slamming the door behind him, sitting down in front of me.
I was confused, to say the absolute least.
