Chapter 13

PRESENT

Harry stays sitting in silence, Niall is tapping his feet, Liam stands at the foot of the bed looking out the window, and Zayn sits looking at Harry concerned. Harry's eyes open and he looks at Niall.

"Will you stop tapping your feet? Will ya?"  Harry asks Niall.

"I'm sorry I'm stressed, what the nurse said is really freaking me out," Niall answers and stops tapping his feet.

Harry closes his eyes and Niall continues tapping his feet. Harry opens his eyes and glares at Niall.

"Niall I told you to stop tapping your feet! I can't think with you tapping your feet."

"I can't Harry I'm too stressed, you know this is what I do when I'm stressed."

Harry rolls his eyes and shakes his head. Liam looks at Louis and starts pacing around the hospital room.

"Liam what are you doin? Stop pacing! It's annoying and quite distracting really!" Harry yells.

"Harry, you heard the nurse Tommo's not doing good. We're all stressing because he's our friend and we might lose our fucking friend! This silence you want is not helping, this goddamn silence is making it worse! I get it you want to be able to think but I don't want to! I want to be as far away from my thoughts as I possibly can cause there all bad! The only thought in my head is that I'm going to lose my mate and I can't think like that, I can't! It's eating me up alive," Liam yells with tears running down his face.

Zayn can't handle it; he gets up and walks towards the door. Harry looks at him with daggers.

"Where do you think you're going Zayn?" Harry asks.

"I'm leaving, I can't do this," Zayn says holding back tears.

"Just like you left the band! Do you know who it hurt the most? Louis, it hurt Louis! And you're doing the same thing now! You're not Zayn Malik your Zayn the disappear! Leave Zayn! Leave! This wouldn't be the first time you've left Louis! LEAVE!" Harry screams.     

Niall stops tapping his feet and looks at Harry shocked. Liam stops pacing and looks at Zayn worried. Harry stands there, his whole body is trembling as the tears pour out. Zayn begins slowly walking out the door trying not to cry. But no matter how hard he tries the tears come pouring down. He freezes and turns around looking at Harry. He begins to walk towards Harry filled with tears.

"You know why I left the band; I had a fucking eating disorder! If I would have stayed in the band, I would be six feet under. I didn't do it to fucking hurt you, or Louis I did it cause I had to. I don't regret leaving the band, but I do regret ruining our relationships. I don't want to leave cause I don't care about Louis, I want to leave because I'm scared I'll never be able to fix our relationship."

The room is quiet, Zayn freezes and Harry looks at him with a sorry look on his face. Niall still stands in shock; Liam walks over to Zayn and attempts to comfort him.

"Zayn, you know Louis told me to tell you that he wishes you two were closer. He misses the old days before everything," Liam says.

Zayn cries falling onto the floor, he sits as the tears come down his face. Zayn is upset, he feels he is the reason Louis is in the hospital. If he would have never left the band, he and Louis's relationship would have never tanked. He could be there for Louis and stop Louis from ever having to go to the hospital. If he were there for Louis, they wouldn't be in this situation. Zayn didn't regret leaving the band but now he does because staying in the band would save Louis's life.
