Chapter 15

PRESENT

Zayn still sits on the floor crying, he looks up at the guys with tears in his eyes.

"It's all my fault mates if I would have never left the band we wouldn't be in this situation. I regret not being there for Louis. If I was there for him I could've talked to him and checked up on him. But no I was too stubborn and selfish!" Zayn says.

"Zayn, I'm sorry for yelling at you. What the nurse said really stressed me out and I put my anger out on you and the rest of the guys. What happened to Louis isn't your fault at all. Don't blame yourself, trust me it makes things worst," Harry says softly.

"Ya, Zayn it's not your fault. You had to leave the band, if you didn't you wouldn't be here with us and Louis would still be in this situation. Here take my hand and I'll help you back to your seat," Liam says reaching out his hand.

Zayn grabs Liam's hand, Liam pulls him up and takes him to his chair. Zayn sits down and begins to calm down. Liam walks over to the foot of the bed, looks at Louis, and smiles.

"Remember how at the concerts Tommo and I would get into water fights on stage and it was like a slip n slide?" Liam asks.

"Yes, it's quite funny that the ones who weren't in the water fight were the ones who slipped. I also remember when Louis made fun of you for having no hair. You two were always fighting and messing around," Harry adds.

"That's just me and Tommo's relationship, we like to mess around because we love each other like brothers. Tommo's my big brother," Liam says smiling.

"Remember Dallas?" Niall asks.

"I do," Harry says raising his eyebrows.

"We don't talk about Dallas!" Zayn interrupts.

"You're right Zayn, Dallas was scary I saw things I didn't want to see," Niall says.

"Rember when Louis would do crazy things on the video diaries and he would make us all laugh," Zayn interrupts.

"Ya, Louis is the funniest person I know. If he was awake right now he would probably be making some joke about all of us crying," Harry adds.

"Harry you remember the day I walked into the tour bus without knocking and you and Louis were there. You two freaked out at me and told me to leave. Why do I always have to be the one to walk in on you two? I can't count how many times I've walked in on you," Niall says

"Nialler, we've all walked in on them, you're not the only one," Liam says.

"I remember my first trip with Louis, it was a ski trip and it was the best trip of my life," Harry says smiling.

"Remember that interview where you asked Louis if you could give him?" Niall asks.

"I remember the interview where Louis dialed nine when he wasn't supposed to," Zayn interrupts.

"Oh ya, that was so funny. Louis always made me laugh, he would change the lyrics to songs to get me to laugh. He would make fart jokes too and they were so funny. Oh, Harry, you remember that interview where Louis was like fuck management and took his finger and put it?"

"I remember when Tommo would tell me to pull your pants down at concerts Harry, and we were all a part of his plan," Liam interrupts.

"Sometimes he really chose to be a dick, but most the time he was just a sweet goofball and that's why I love him," Harry adds.

"And his dance moves, I can never stop thinking about his iconic stop the traffic and let 'em through. But his dance moves are horrendous," Liam adds.

"All of our dance moves are bad. We were a band who couldn't dance," Zayn says.

"Louis had some good rhythm and I can dance. Have you seen my Grammy performance? I dance in it and Louis told me I was the hottest dancer he had ever seen after he watched it. It could be because I was wearing a leather suit with no shirt on underneath and only a boa covering my chest," Harry adds.

"Ay, I can do a pretty good Irish dance. Louis always told me my Irish dancing made me look like an Irish princess and I take that as a compliment," Niall says getting out of his chair and beginning to Irish dance.

They all watch Niall dance and laugh, Niall stops dancing and joins in on the laughter. They haven't laughed like this together in years. They all look at Louis and stop laughing. When they see Louis laying in the hospital bed hooked up to all the machines it reminds them that Louis is struggling to live. They have no more laughter to let out, it brings them all back into reality. They all sit down in their spots and Liam stays standing at his. Harry grabs Louis's hand.

"You remember when we decided to go on hiatus? Louis was so upset, we fought a lot that night," Harry says softly.

"Ya, I remember me and Louis were the last ones to hold on. But we both knew if you were to leave Harry there would be no band. Louis wanted you to hold on to the band because without you there was no band," Liam adds.

"It was hard when we went on hiatus, I had been with all of you every minute of every day for years, and then out of know where I rarely saw you guys," Niall adds.

"The hiatus saved my life, I wouldn't be here if there was never a hiatus. It did kill me to see Louis so upset about the hiatus, especially when he found out he had to be with Simon to judge X Factor," Liam adds.

"Louis was so upset with me when I gave up on the band, we would fight and argue all the time about it. Eventually, Louis treated me with silent treatment. We had this awful fight, we were at the ding room table having supper and he screamed at me for giving up on the band, for giving up on us. We kept fighting until all of a sudden we were broken up. It was the first time and last time we had broken up. For that little time we were broken up I was lost and so was he. I regret breaking up with him for something stupid. It wasted time and I may never get another moment to be with him," Harry says softly.
