It was still storming when he woke up the next morning, the rain pounding against the windows while lightening lit up the still dark sky. They definitely weren't going to be watching the sunrise this morning, though he had a feeling they had definitely slept through the sun rise. He grinned as he pulled Meredith closer, his eyes moving towards the clock. Almost nine. They had definitely missed the sunrise.
Which probably made sense. He was pretty sure they hadn't officially fallen asleep until about two hours before the sunrise. There had been sleep on occasion through out the night, crashes between rounds but mainly they had kept each other up, learning each other's bodies and secrets to make the other person moan their name a little louder than they were sure their friends thought necessary.
He still couldn't believe how amazing the sex was. He had been having sex for over a decade now, and it had never felt like this Even though he was just learning her body, he felt like he already knew it. Kissing the hollow of her throat had made her tense and moan beneath him, and it had been completely natural for him. Being with her was completely natural.
He couldn't believe how much in love with her he was. She had always been strangely special to him. She had always been little tiny Meredith who he adored being around but now his heart tightened in his chest just thinking about how he felt for her. The sex the night before had been something he hadn't expected, the strange base connection or whatever it was they had. It was something special.
It was actually beyond special. It sounded cheesy in his head, and he knew he'd never actually say it to Meredith, but what they had...he had always hoped for this. It was something his parents had had, and he had spent all of his life looking for it. Every girl he had dated, he had hoped, but then he had found it with Meredith. Little Meredith. He pulled her closer as a loud clap of thunder shook the walls and she jerked slightly, suddenly breaking into a coughing fit.
"Mer?" he frowned, shaking her slightly. "You okay?"
"Hmmm," she groaned, trying to clear her throat as she burrowed underneath the sheets.
"Mer...wake up," he murmured.
"Don't...no..." Her voice was raspy and hoarse.
"Meredith, you need to wake up," his frown deepened as he pulled her closer. "Wake up."
"Later."
"I think you're sick, Mer."
"Okay," she murmured, coughing again as she pulled the blanket over her head.
"Okay, Mer," he sighed, ducking under with her. "Just let me look at you and you can go back to bed."
"Don't want sex."
"Well neither do I," he laughed softly. "I just want to see how my girlfriend is feeling."
"Like...like...crap," she sneezed. "Sorry."
"It's okay," he smiled softly, running a hand along her cheek. "I don't think you have a temp."
"Hmmm."
"What feels like crap?"
"My...throat. And...definitely my nose. Head."
"Oh Mer..." he murmured. "You got Soph's cold."
"Obviously," she groaned as she coughed. "Which is completely your fault."
"What? How?"
"Because...wet. I was wet yesterday and you wanted sex so I didn't finish drying off and...your fault. Clearly your fault."
"Are...are you complaining about the sex?"
"Yes...no..." she frowned. "Sex was amazing. Really really amazing but you...we were wet. I was wet."
