60 Still Not Worthy

J.A.R.V.I.S. lowered the music in the lab so that Tony could hear him. "Sir, Agent Romanoff has arrived via Quinjet. She has guests with her. A female and a male. They appear to be Asgardian."

Tony turned the blowtorch off and pulled his welder's facemask up as his head tilted as if he were listening for something. "Do we know who they are, J?"

"No, though I am inferring they are Asgardian by their dress." There was a pause, "And that they are armed with swords."

Tony grinned as he pulled his gloves off, setting everything on the counter he had been working over. He ran both hands through his hair, scratching at his scalp and because he was sweaty the result was that his hair poked up in various directions. "Good guess." He shook his head violently back and forth to clear his mind, then cracked his neck back and forth as he walked out of the lab, "Space Vikings with swords. What'll they think of next? Gun powder?"

Upstairs Nat rode the elevator down with her two guests. They had been hesitant to enter the elevator at first until she had explained its function. The two were prepared when the elevator began to move.

Fandral gave a grin to Nat, "Much like our BiFrost."

Sif scoffed, "This mortal contraption is nothing like our BiFrost."

Fandral shrugged to Nat but didn't lose his grin.

Once on the community floor, as they moved further into the area she offered them something to drink.

Sif spoke curtly, "No. We would rather begin this search for our Prince. The sooner he is found the sooner we may return home."

Both she and Fandral were looking around them, taking in the strange Midgardian furnishings. While Sif stood still she radiated energy in her desire to be doing something. Her hand occasionally tapped against her thigh, only her eyes moving about the room.

Fandral on the other hand didn't hesitate to wander around, leaning forward to inspect something closer. He moved in what appeared a random path, moving from one item to another that appeared to catch his eye.

Nat wasn't fooled. He was circling her, attempting to move into a position where she was pinched between himself and Sif. Nat moved just as easily, keeping both in her vision.

She asked, "Do you know why Thor is here on Earth? That might narrow down places to search for him."

Fandral and Sif exchanged glances while he spoke up first, "No, he didn't speak with us before he took his leave."

Lie. Nat thought for a supposedly advanced race of space gods they should be able to lie much better. After all, they had longer to perfect the art. She mentally shrugged, perhaps it was an honor thing. "Well, don't worry. Tony is the perfect person to help us. He knows all of Thor's little hiding places."

Sif narrowed her eyes as she glared at Nat, "Why would you claim that Thor would need to hide? He would never hide from anything. Thors no coward."

Nat's lips twitched, she noticed that Sif had finally played her hand by calling Thor by his name rather than his title. Interesting. "I just meant that sometimes he and Doctor Foster like to, have privacy. Away from prying eyes. You know how it is."

Nat took notice of the tightening of Sif's face, her lips pressing together into a thin line. The woman said nothing but her feelings were on display. Bingo.

The elevator opened and Tony walked out, taking in Sif first since she was closer. He gave her a once-over, appreciation for a beautiful woman sliding over his face as he spoke. "Well hello, nurse." He walked forward raising his hand out as he did.
