Thor looked at Loki with thunder in his eyes, "Stop calling me an idiot."
"Stop being one!"
Pushing past Loki was surprisingly easy, "Why did you do that?" He waved his hand towards the bedroom door. "Appear in such a form?"
"You mean why did I convince your morons that you had a female in my chambers rather than let them push over you and have you tell them all?" Loki stood with a false expression of wonder on his face, "Hmmm. Well, Brother, I can't imagine why I wouldn't want you to reveal me to them. Which would lead to you revealing the other me."
Thor dropped into the chair, "I wouldn't have revealed all."
"No, just enough for them to figure everything out." Loki flowed to perch on the arm of a large chair, looking oddly like a giant bird as he sat balanced on his bare feet. "Now." He gave Thor a stern look while folding his arms over his knees in a way that should have been impossible while maintaining his balance. "Before you explain what ill-thought-out strategy led you to make Myrun your," Loki shook his head in bewilderment, "Lady's Maid, you will explain why you left me on Midgard."
Thor wasn't done complaining, "Because of you they think I had some female servant in your chambers." He scrunched one side of his face in distaste.
At first, Loki sounded as though he was confused, "Yes, that was the point," Then he asked accusingly, "Is it that I chose a female form that has you annoyed?" He looked at Thor sideways while asking in a now sly tone, "Or would you rather I kept to a male form?" His similarity to a curious bird became more pronounced.
Now it was Thor's turn to glare, "No, I don't care how you chose to appear." Loki's eyebrows twitched but he said nothing as Thor continued. "I simply wish you hadn't appeared at all. Now I will have to explain though I don't know what to say."
Loki chuckled, "Oh, I think you will have no need to explain. The idiots three understood quite quickly what was implied. And it was obvious Sif understood." His face was unkind in its pleasure and his quiet laughter turned dark.
With a look that sought an answer to a long-standing question Thor asked thoughtfully, "I do not remember what incited your dislike of Sif or the Warriors Three. We grew up together, quested, and fought wars and battles side by side." Thor watched Loki's face go deceptively blank. He knew this usually meant a howling storm was inside his Brother as he sought to hide his emotions. Thor observed Loki look away while his fingers picked at a palm, thinking how realistic this creation behaved and how these actions made it so easy to think of it as just his Brother. Thor felt odd seeing these so familiar habits which were wonderful yet painful because he doubted that the Brother on Midgard would ever return to this Brother. "Loki?" Thor wondered how many memories the real Loki had put into this simple spell that was only created to protect these chambers.
A shiver came over Loki and a wash of green flowed through from top to bottom before Loki narrowed his eyes at Thor and answered curtly, "You would know best, Brother, for as you say, you were there with them."
With a long-suffering sigh, Thor opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.
"While I was not always there myself I heard the gossip whispered by those who take pleasure in sharing such tales." He pointed a finger in Thor's direction, "And do not claim I imagined the insults." The wavering green washed over him again, this time nearly fast enough to miss it. "When I confronted your friends they were delighted in repeating their slander."
The words made Thor unable to utter any reply because his mind was replaying an accusation he had made that sounded painfully similar to his Brother's words. This Brother had not experienced the last few years and yet still felt the same as the Brother he had fought on Midgard so these feelings were not new. It was a struggle not to defend himself. Swallowing Thor nodded, "Very well, Brother. I will not add to your injury by dismissing your feelings."
