Thor didn't feel he could relax until he slipped into Loki's chambers, shoving the door closed and then leaning Mjolnir against it to keep it in place. He turned to go find Loki but instead yelped and stumbled back against the door when he found himself staring right into Loki's face. Tripping over his own feet he ended up sliding down the door to land in a tangled heap on the floor.

Loki snickered with a grin, "Oh, you should have seen your face!" His humor vanished as he suddenly frowned. With a scowl, while looming over Thor he put his hands on his hips as he demanded, "Where's Myrun? Don't tell me you couldn't do this one, simple thing?"

Thor slowly rose while rubbing his backside which had landed on Mjolnir and gave his brother a scowl matching in intensity to the one he was getting. "Can you provide light?" Several sconces had a low flame in them within seconds.

"Where is she?" Loki sounded irritated and he folded his arms.

"She's in the Healers Hall." Walking over to a large comfortable chair while still rubbing his backside Thor dropped down into it and then looked up at Loki with an accusing gaze and when he spoke his voice was a low rumble, "So now you will tell me all that happened."

"How is she? What did they do to her?" Loki's voice carried just as much distressed anger as Thor's did. "And why did you leave her unguarded? They will just come back for her."

Thor looked up at his brother, "No they won't. Now tell me what you did to cause all this?"

"They will! Do you think they will simply leave her? She's just a servant, Thor. You need to return and stay with her then bring her back to me."

"Not until you tell me of this sudden concern for a simple maid." He raised a hand to prevent the demand that was going to come, "Loki." The note of exasperation in Thor's tone was tired. "Trust me when I say that she will come to no harm, please, and stop avoiding my question. What did you do, Brother?" Thor held his breath as he wondered if Loki would let the name slip past. He should, after all this wasn't the Loki who had let go at the BiFrost. This Loki still considered them Brothers by blood.

An expression of suspicion slipped onto Loki's face while he tilted his head to peer at Thor sideways then asked slyly, "That is a very good question." A slippery note glided into his next word, "Brother." He turned his head to look directly at Thor, "What did you do that makes you so sure she will not be returned to the dungeons?" Even in the faint light, Loki's gaze held an intenseness.

"Loki," Thor's tone had a hint of a whine in it, "Just tell me."

Loki stared at Thor, searching the face for a sign of what had happened and found nothing. "How very unlike you, to be able to resist telling a tale that I'm sure paints you in a very noble and heroic light." When Thor just looked back at him with a blank expression that said he had no intention of giving in to flattery Loki sighed dramatically, "Oh, very well." Loki perched on the long couch like an anxious cat, "I must first say that none of this is my fault."

Thor groaned and leaned his head forward to rub at his temples with both hands. Not even bothering to lift his head he asked, "Then who's fault is it? And don't say it's mine." Now he raised his head enough to glare at Loki with the one eye he uncovered enough to peek through his fingers.

"Well, of course, it's your fault." Loki pointed at the door being held up with Mjolnir. "You broke my door with your big, clumsy fingers then refused to repair it before trapesing off to Midgard of all places."

Thor groaned, "What does that have to do with what happened?"

"If you hadn't of failed to repair what you had broken, I would not have been tempted to try to travel beyond these chambers." The insulted cat expression was back.
