BARRY POV:

After two weeks of vacation, it felt well to return to the CCPD, but the only negative aspect of returning to work after two weeks of vacation was the amount of paperwork that had been retained on top of my desk, but fortunately and thanks to my super speed, this problem had a quick solution.

After doing my morning routine, I left the house and went to Jitters, to get my coffee, because a person without coffee can't think of anything, even more at work. As soon as they gave me my cup of coffee, I left Jitters and went on my way to CCPD. Usually before I went to the CCPD, I still went through STAR Labs to be with my team a little bit, but since today my shift started earlier, I didn't have time to go through the laboratory.

As soon as I entered the CCPD, I passed Joe's secretary and saw that he and Eddie were already busy with a robbery that had occurred in a boarding house in downtown Central City, so to avoid disturbing them, I went straight to my office. As expected, as soon as I entered my office, I saw the height of the pile of paperwork I had to sign. But before I could take it, I was asked to go to a crime scene with Jasper. Jasper was about Joe's age, in fact they even entered the CCPD in the same year.

"So what do we have here?" Jasper asked the medical logist who was examining the victim's body.

- Wait, this isn't ...

- Yes! Victor Velasquez, world-renowned scientist.- completed the medical logist.

- It is said that this gentleman was working on a formula that would revolutionize the world.

"Do you already know what was the cause of death?" Jasper asked the doctor.

- I still can't say for sure, but my preliminary analysis is poisoning. But when I know what killed him, you will be the first person to know it, "said the doctor, placing the victim's body in a corpse bag.

While Jasper was talking to the witnesses I started collecting clues. In the room where the body was, I found only a few footprints and fingerprints, which must belong to the victim and his family. But after analyzing the rest of the house, I found, in the dustbin, a bottle without a label. After finishing collecting all the clues found in this mansion, Jasper and I returned to the CCPD and I quickly went to my laboratory to analyze everything I had collected.

An hour and a half after we arrived at the CCPD, Jasper came to my laboratory and told me that the medical logist had just called and that he had confirmed the cause of death, that it had been poisoning, but that he did not know what kind of poison had been used.

- He sent these samples here, in the hope that you can determine which poison was used to kill Mr. Velasquez.- said Jasper.

About twenty minutes later, I got a correspondence. From what it says here on my computer, the poison used to kill Mr. Velasquez was Ricina . Ricin is a poison of plant origin and the poisoning causes stomach pain, diarrhea and vomiting with blood. This poison is even used in bioterrorist attacks.

"But I never saw a sample of ricin with this composition," I said to Jasper.

"Do you know what the formula Mr. Velasquez was working on consisted of?" Asked Jasper.

- No, I only read a few articles in a scientific magazine, but I don't think he ever talked about it. It just said that this formula was going to change the world.

- We have to assume that whoever killed him has the formula in his possession. Which is very serious!

- With your permission and after going to see the captain, I was going to ask a friend of mine to come and help us solve this case. She is called Dr. Caitlin Snow and is a bio-engineer at STAR Labs.
