About two weeks after coming to the Triskelion, Rose finally had the pleasure of meeting the brilliant science duo of Gemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. Together, the pair had come up with a chip that, when inserted into Rose's hippocampus, would allow her to remember everything in her life, from her time in Hydra to her first birthday party. The idea that she would remember every bit of knowledge she came across scared Rose but was also exciting.
"Hi, you must be Rose, it's a pleasure to meet you," Gemma says, reaching her hand out to shake Rose's hand.
"The pleasure is mine," says Rose as she shakes the scientist's hand, "It's been amazing to hear of the work you two have been doing. I'm equally impressed and thankful for all the energy you have put in."
"You're British?" questions the man, Rose assuming that was Fitz, "Great, another one of you running around SHIELD."
"You must be Leo Fitz?" questioned Rose, laughing.
"Yes he is," replies Gemma, shooting her partner a look, "I apologize for his antics, you know how the Scottish get."
Rose couldn't help but laugh at the pair, who began arguing back and forth over the nationalities.
"You two are such a cute couple," Rose chimes in. Her comment gets the two to stop arguing, and direct curious looks at her, "Ok, based on that reaction, not a couple. Sorry!"
Fitz scowls and moves to prep everything for the procedure. He also goes over how the chip will withstand her powers, as well as any form of shock or current that may be used against it. Then Gemma explains how the chip's network will integrate into her hippocampus, allowing her neurons to stop misfiring in the region, and allow her memory to be fully intact as a result.
"Unfortunately, it means all your memories will come back," states Gemma, offering a sad smile.
"It's ok, all is better than nothing right?" laughs Rose, trying to ease the tension.
"I'll be applying a local anesthetic, so you won't feel anything until the chip is in," says Gemma, preparing the back of Rose's neck, "I apologize though, we have to keep you awake to ensure the chip reaches the correct destination."
"Meaning?" asks Rose.
"Meaning you're gonna have a killer headache until the chip is in, and then an even worse one as the memories are brought back," states Fitz, a hint of a smile on his face.
"I feel like you're gonna enjoy this a little too much," laughs Rose.
"Anything to mess with you crazy Brits!" laughs Fitz, "Gemma, when you're ready."
The scientists both look at Rose, who nods, before starting the process. Once the chip is in, Gemma places a protective barrier over the incision, in case they need to extract the piece. Fitz hadn't been lying about the headache either. Rose's head began pounding with pressure as she felt the chip move up her brain, which is something she didn't know could happen. She pressed her hands against her temples, hoping to put the pressure somewhere else, to no avail. Gemma grabbed the girl's hands, and let her squeeze her own, in an attempt to help the pain. Rose knew she couldn't squeeze too hard, or she could easily break the girl's hands. But as soon as the pain started, it stopped. Rose opened her eyes and looked at the scientists, amazed.
"That was awes-"
Rose was cut off from her thanks when the memories started flooding in. Everything she had ever done, seen, overheard, all of it was rushing back at the same time. Rose let out a scream as the good times, the bad times, and even the horrible all came rushing in. She couldn't pinpoint anything.
