When the quinjet touched down on the helicarrier, Natasha quickly took Rose from her seat before any of the men could ask too many questions. When she arrived with Loki and the others, Natasha saw Rose clutching her dog tag. Her worry grew when she saw Rose's confusion as she read the dog tag. It had been a week since Rose's last trip to the memory machine, so Natasha knew it was time for a relapse. The men brought Loki to his cell, while the girls went to Banner. Banner had set up a travel unit for Rose to use, in between her times at HQ. While it wasn't perfect, it helped with missions that took longer than planned.
Rose was embarrassed to have to be in the setup when everyone walked in to listen to the interrogation, which Bruce and Nat picked up on. Nat grabbed her friend's hand, as the redhead and the doctor stood in front of Rose to give a semblance of privacy. Steve shot a look to Natasha, before turning away at her head shaking no. She knew that Rose didn't want Steve to know the extent of the memory issues she had, because her sister was in the same boat when Steve and Rose would visit. Losing them both to their memories would crush the man, so Rose hid in her training sessions with Natasha.
"So what's his play?" asks Steve as Fury leaves Loki's holding area.
"He has an army called the Chitauri," responds Thor, "They're not of Asgard or any known world. He means to lead them against your people. I suspect they want the Tesseract in return."
"So that's what he needs Selvig for," pipes up Bruce, "He needs to sustain a portal to bring them through."
"Selvig?" questions Thor, a look of familiarity breezing across his face.
"Loki has him under a spell, along with a few others," adds Natasha. Rose gives her hand a squeeze. She knew how important Clint was to Natasha, and seeing the spy distraught over him and worried about her, made Rose feel guilty. Natasha returned the squeeze, sparing a quick glance and smile over her shoulder.
"Almost done Blondie, says it's 80 percent complete," whispers Natasha, "Just close your eyes and relax into it for a moment."
Rose does as she's told, knowing complete concentration was crucial in her travel machine. She hears the group discussing things like iridium and coulomb's barrier, but lets herself drift into the memory that presented itself today.
Peggy grabbed her sister's hand, dragging her to the last remaining club on the battlefront. While the place still had citizens, it was predominantly used by the soldiers in the area.
"Come on Rose, we are going to be late!" exclaims Peggy, jumping over puddles from the recent rain. Rose laughed at the excitement on her sister's face, she hadn't seen her this happy since their brother Michael had passed.
"The boys will just have to deal with it," laughs Rose, "It takes time to look this good!"
The sisters explode into laughter as they reach their destination. The boisterous music could be heard across the square, but no one seemed to care that night. There were only two more stops on the list to defeat Hydra, it was cause to celebrate. Dancing, singing, drinking, the whole nine yards. The girls walked in, and conversations stopped, along with the music. Rose rolled her eyes at the men, while Peggy simply pushed through to the back corner booth.
Their men stood at attention at the sight of them. Peggy in her signature red, Rose in her signature light blue.
"You two look-" starts Steve, before James interrupts...
"Breathtaking," finishes Bucky, placing a kiss on Rose's hand, earning the blush he loved so much.
"And don't you just look dapper Sarge," Rose says as she leans in to place a kiss on Bucky's cheek, just to the side of his mouth. His cheeks ran warm as he faked a cough to relieve the tension in his face. The four sat down and a round was immediately placed in front of them.
They continue to enjoy their night, the girls ending up a little tipsy, so their men bring them safely back to their bunks. The whole night, the widest grin had been plastered on Bucky's face, and it didn't disappear as they walked back.
"What's got you so cheery, Sarge?" questioned Rose, as she burst into a fit of giggles at the nickname. She refused to call Bucky anything else, loving the rise it got out of him each time.
"I'm just the absolute happiest that I get to call you mine," he whispers in her ear, causing goosebumps to explode over her body. He spins the girl into his arms, and for a minute it's just them. Bucky looks over her face, trying to remember every last detail of it. His eyes land on her lips, and he pulls her in closer, to the point their breath intertwines.
"Are you gonna kiss me or ju-"
Rose didn't get to finish her tease, as Bucky sweeps the words from her lips, planting his gently on hers. This was new, not like the kisses they shared before. Now, he didn't mind flaunting his affection for her throughout camp, seeing as they were officially together. Their lips continue to wander each other until it's decided oxygen has to be essential once again. They break apart, the brightest grins on both their faces as their foreheads and noses staying touching."I could do that all night," laughs Bucky, as he kisses the blonde one more time.
"Why don't you?" questions Rose, before grabbing his hand and pulling him into her room.
Rose's blissful memory is interrupted both by the machine turning off, and the members of her team dispersing. Natasha gave her a sad smile and a quick hug, before leaving to take care of her orders.
"Great, princess, you're back with us," says Tony, looking up from his screen, "we can get started."
