Max woke up first, the morning light filtering through the curtains. As he sat up, a sharp pain reminded him of the previous night's intensity. He winced, trying to move carefully, but the discomfort was unavoidable.

Valentino, still groggy but attuned to Max's needs, immediately noticed his partner's distress. He shot up from the bed, concern etched on his face. "Hey, you alright?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine worry. He reached out to Max, his heart sinking at the sight of him in pain.

"I'm okay," Max said, though his voice betrayed the discomfort he was feeling. "Just a bit sore."

Valentino didn't hesitate. "Let me help you," he said gently. He carefully lifted Max into his arms, cradling him in a bridal style. Max rested his head against Val's shoulder, grateful for the support. Valentino carried him downstairs, each step taken with extra caution.

In the kitchen, their private chef was busy preparing breakfast. The warm, comforting aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air. Valentino settled into a chair with Max still in his arms, gently placing him on his lap. The chef looked up, offering a nod of acknowledgment.

"Morning, sir.  Morning, Max," the chef greeted, his tone friendly and professional. "I've got a spread ready for you both. Just let me know if you need anything else."

"Thanks, Peter," Val responded, his voice softer than usual. He stroked Max's hair gently, trying to offer as much comfort as he could. "I'm sorry about last night. I didn't mean to push you too far."

Max managed a small, appreciative smile. "It's alright," he said, his voice still carrying a hint of discomfort. "I think we both needed that... even if it did leave me sore."

Val chuckled softly, the sound warm and reassuring. "Well, I'll make sure you're taken care of today," he promised. He looked at Peter, signaling that he was ready to eat.

Peter soon brought over a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast, along with a steaming mug of coffee. Val made sure Max had everything he needed, cutting up the food into manageable pieces and offering him a bite.

"Here you go," Val said, holding the fork to Max's lips. "Eat up. You need your strength."

Max took a bite, savoring the taste. "This is really good," he said, his spirits lifting slightly.

As they ate, Val kept a protective arm around Max, making sure he was comfortable. The kitchen was filled with the soft sounds of their conversation and the clinking of cutlery. It was a moment of normalcy and care, a stark contrast to the night before.

After breakfast, Val helped Max back upstairs to their bedroom. "We'll take it easy today," he said, settling Max back into bed. "Just relax and let yourself recover. I'll be right here."

Max nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude and affection for Val. "Thanks, Val. For everything."

Valentino smiled, leaning in to kiss Max's forehead. "Anytime," he said softly. "We're in this together."
