THE GRYFFINDOR PARTY raged on well into the night. Athena's office was near the common room tower and she couldn't hear the music vibrating through the stone walls.
It wasn't as though she would have been getting any sleep regardless of whether they were having a party or not however Athena couldn't help but think that they could have at least chosen better music.
It must have stopped around one in the morning. At this point, Athena was sat up in her bed reading by the moonlight. The pages of her book illuminated by the silver light as her eyes tried to take in the words that she was reading. Unfortunately her mind was too tired even if her eyes were alive and unable to stay closed for long.
About an hour after the music in Gryffindor tower had stopped, Athena heard raised voices again. She placed her book down and wondering whether they were risking starting up the party for round two.
Back in her day, the marauders used to perform charms to muffle the music from outside. She wondered whether it would be a good idea to tell the Gryffindor's this, maybe that way they wouldn't be disturbing half of the castle.
Athena knew that McGonagall wouldn't be happy about them continuing the celebrations well into the night even if Gryffindor had won the match against Ravenclaw.
However, she couldn't help but notice that the yelling voices she could hear travelling through the walls sounded almost panicked and there was no music accompanying the noise.
She pulled herself out of bed, wrapping a jacket around herself as she pulled her boots onto her feet without tying the laces.
Athena presumed that Aurora wouldn't have heard all of the commotion. Her sister could sleep through pretty much everything.
She hurried along the corridor towards Gryffindor tower when she met McGonagall following the same path.
"I told them to shut it down about an hour ago" McGonagall huffed angrily. Athena didn't get a chance of input as she hurried after the Gryffindor head of house. She told the password to the very boisterous portrait of Sir Cadogan and the two of them stepped inside.
There wasn't much partying going on however there were crowds of students standing in their pyjamas looking confused. In the middle of it stood Harry, Ron and Percy.
"I am delighted that Gryffindor won the match, but this is getting ridiculous! Percy, I expected better of you!" McGonagall snapped
"I certainly didn't authorize this, Professor!" said Percy, puffing himself up indignantly. "I was just telling them all to get back to bed! My brother Ron here had a nightmare --"
"IT WASN'T A NIGHTMARE!" Ron yelled. "PROFESSOR, I WOKE UP, AND SIRIUS BLACK WAS STANDING OVER ME, HOLDING A KNIFE!"
Professor McGonagall stared at him and Athena's jaw dropped comically. Ron was white in the face with fear, practically shaking on the spot. Yet surely Sirius wouldn't be so stupid as to break into Gryffindor tower again and almost kill Ron.
