May landed the plane and turned off the engine. Coulson was fast asleep on the couch, he's head propped up on the arm chair with a blanket that started at his neck and ended at his ankles. May grinned a little at this sight before letting out a long sigh. Her now stitched up wound was giving off an uncomfortable pulse. Suddenly there was a groan that came from the couch. May started to stand up leaning heavily on her seat.

"Simmons said you shouldn't be standing." Coulson said rubbing his tired eyes.

"Phil I'm fine."

"Oh my God." Coulson spat standing up and clapping his hands down at his side. "Melinda May I swear on all things holy I will ban that word from your mouth if you say it again." May rolled her eyes and started walking towards the exit. "May you can barley walk." Coulson added. May didn't react she just kept walking. Coulson sighed and ran after her.

"Melinda." He called, she stopped walking a turned around to face him. "I'm sorry. I just- I'm just trying to protect you." May scoffed.

"Me? Protecting? That's funny Phil." She started to turn but Coulson grabbed her wrist.

"I'm being serious." May just sighed.

"Coulson. It's fine. I'm fine. It's just a little scratch."

"What about mentally?" Mays eyebrows scrunched up.

"Excuse me?"

"Your nightmares?" Coulson added. May looked away from him then down to her feet.

"Phil. I'll say the same thing I said earlier, I've been handling it fine on my own."

"When was the last time you slept? Like actually slept a peaceful sleep." May didn't respond she just took a shaky breath and crossed her arms. Coulson snaked his arms around her back then pulled her into a hug.

May stiffened a little then relaxed into his embrace. Coulson held her tight against him, placing a long kiss on her head. May only allowed a single tear to fall down her face, the rest she blinked away. After May knew the tear was gone and out of sight she pulled away.

Coulson allowed her to slip through his arms.

"I'm gonna go check up on some files." She mumbled, Coulson watched her walk away every inch of him wanting to run after her. But he couldn't, she needed to be alone for right now. "She'll come to me when she's ready." He thought.

Coulson sat down alone in his office when Daisy came barging into the room.

"What the hell!" She half screamed.

"Well hello there." He said sarcastically. Daisy rolled her eyes and paced back and forth her hands on her hips.

"Why would you bring May into the field like that?!" Daisy asked, she stopped pacing and turned to face Coulson.

  "We needed her and-."

"Did you? Did you really?! Any of us could have gone on that mission and you chose the woman who can barley walk?" Coulson stood up and Daisy's eyes followed him.

"Can you fly a plane?" Daisy shook her head.

  "No but-."

  "Exactly, May-."
