So I saw this picture and HAD to make a one shot about it.

May sighed with exhaustion as she closed her fathers car door. She had just gotten back from the courthouse after signing Andrews divorce papers, again. She should've known better than to trust that man.

Mays tired feet carried her to her front door. Her frigid hands reached into her purse and pulled out a set of keys. She pulled out the smallest one and used it to unlock the door.

"Baba, I'm home." She called into the house. When she got no response she just assumed he had went to his room to sleep.  She made her way into the kitchen and was about to set her purse on the counter when she saw someone.

A very familiar man leaning against the dishwasher.

"Phil?" Coulson smirked and pushed himself off the counter with his leg.

"Hey there." He stood in front of her, five feet away. His hands held loosely at his side.

"Wha-... what are you doing here." Coulson smirked but didn't answer. He reached over and grabbed a cup of water and took a sip.

"Your dads out playing bingo, me and Mr. May had a very nice conversation," Coulson pulled a picture of out his pocket, handing it to her. "Apparently you were an ice dancer?" May scoffed and put the picture back in her purse, grinning slightly at the memories.

  "Figure skater." She corrected.

"Ah that's it." May fixed her hair slightly, she put a small strand behind her ear. Coulson always loved it when she did that.

"Uh, can I get you something to eat?" May asked setting her purse on the counter and walking passed him to the fridge. Coulson sighed watching her open it and pull out a already made bowl of salad.

"Um I know you don't like ranch so I could make another one of you want..." He gave her a slight smile.

"No thank you." May nodded and pulled out a fork for herself. Coulson watched her take a bite then set it to the side.

"Scotch?" She offered. This made Coulson smile wide.

"Please." May couldn't help but grin back and head over to the liquor cabinet. She pulled out a big bottle and two glasses and set them on the table. Coulson stepped in and grabbed the bottle from her. "Please let me." She exhaled slightly and sat on the bar chair in the middle of her kitchen. Carefully Coulson brought the two glasses Over and sat beside her.

"So..." he started. May looked up from taking her sip. "How have you been?" She shrugged and ran a finger across the glass, eyes watching her finger.

"Me and Andrew got divorced... again..." Coulsons face softened.

"Oh, I'm sorry." May shook her head.

"It was my fault, I should've just told him I left S.H.I.E.L.D instead of thinking about going back..." coulsons head shot up.

"You're not coming back?" May looked up to meet his gaze.

"I-... I don't know..."

"What do you mean you don't know?" May took another sip of her drink.

"Coulson-"

"You're just gonna walk out?" Coulson couldn't hide the hostility in his voice, it made May tilt her head and her eyebrows come together.

"I'm not walking out."

"You did!" Coulson snapped. "You walked out Melinda! You left the team! You left your responsibilities! You left me for Gods sake!" Mays mouth hung open slightly. "I needed you! I needed my best friend!"
