Coulson was signing off on a file when he heard his door open then heals walk up to his desk. He knowingly sighed and looked up to see May walking towards him, a serious look on her face.

"Hey."

"Hey," he greeted her with a small grin. "Need something?" May half leaned on his desk, crossing her arms.

"Yeah actually." Coulson gestured towards the room, allowing her yo continue. "You wouldn't happen to have Andrew's file would you?" Coulsons eyebrows scrunched together with suspicion and confusion.

"I'm the director I have everyone's files..." He answered her in a snarky tone. "why do you ask?" May shrugged a shoulder.

"I just need it." She assured him, ignoring his slight sass.

"May I can't just give you a file without knowing what you're gonna do with it." May exhaled deeply and looked away for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts.

"I want to try and find him... but I need his file to do that..." Coulson looked at her like she was insane.

"First of all, im sorry?! Second of all, why in the actual hell do you think I'm gonna let you do that?" May sized him a time or two before answering.

"Coulson I need to find him... he's gonna hurt people if we don't put him down!" Coulson sat back in his chair, watching her carefully.

"You wanna kill him?" He clarified. May swallowed and looked away from him. A stone expression on her face that he couldn't read. She slowly nodded, not able to look at him. "May..." Coulson called her name, she just hummed in response.

Coulson sighed and got up from his chair again. He slowly walked around his desk so he was in front of her.

"May look at me." Mays eyes flickered over his face before slightly staring into his eyes. "You don't have to do that..." May scoffed rolling her eyes.

"You know I do, he's going to keep killing inhumans if he's not dead!" Coulson shook his head and took a few steps closer to her.

"We can save him... fitz-Simmons are working on a cure that could be finished any day now... we don't have to lose hope just yet." May eyed him. she really didn't want to hear all of this, she just wanted the file.

"Phil... you and I both know the last thing I want nor need...is hope..." coulsons head fell to the side a little.

"Okay, well let's say he did have to die... you don't have to be the one who does it."

"Dont i?" May challenged.

"No..." Coulson shook his head. "No you don't... and I won't allow it." May cocked a threatening eyebrow and her stare became much harder.

"You won't allow it?" She repeated. Fear crept up along Coulsons back making him want to step away.

"No I won't." Coulson told her, standing his ground. He needed her to understand he was trying to protect her. "You've been through so much already, I'd be a fool to let you go out and kill the man that you love!"

"I don't love him!" May snapped. "The man I loved is gone! All that's left is a monster!"

"May I know you don't believe that..."

"How would you know?" May suddenly became extremely defensive. "Please tell me how you can read my mind!"

"Because when I was carving into walls..." he took another step closer towards her. "When I was the monster... when I thought I was gone... you reminded me every time that I wasn't... you never gave up on me, so don't give up on him.
