Layaan pov
" yummm fried chicken! Thanks mama this is what I need", i said as I kissed my moms cheek.
It was time for dinner. Our dinners weren't anything special, we would just sit and eat. The science was so awkward, you could literally a pin drop on the floor."So Layaan...", said baba as he drives his mouth in the fried chicken leg.
This was bad, my dad never spoke at dinner."Yea baba?", I asked in confusion and worry.
The Iman of the masjid tells me you. were with a guy today in front of the masjid", he glared at me with his dark eyes. Yup. He was angry.
" baba it's not what it looks like! He was drunk! He was in the middle of the road he could have gotten killed, baba please you know I would never fall into that haram", my voice began breaking as I answered.
" I know you, you wouldn't do that, I respect how you wanted to help him, but Layaan be careful not everyone knows your intentions, next time call someone to help, okay, boys can be very unpredictable, just don't trust them"
"Yes baba I understand I learned my lesson!", I walked over to Him and laid a kiss on his forehead.
️Alhamdullah baba was the more understanding kind of parent, he has always been strict, but he never jumped to conclusions.
We all sat back in Silence and finished our dinner.
I looked over at Nayaan, something was seriously wrong with her today, she wasn't herself. Was she upset I pushed her out of the way to use the bathroom? Nah that's not like her. I'll just talk to her after dinner is done.
As soon as we all finished I ran to Nayaans room to see what made her so upset.
"Aye boo boo why you make a sad?", I said in a foolish foreign accent.
" Layaan leave me alone, can't you see im reading!", she threw what looked like a matchbook at me.
I grabbed her by her hand and started making her slap her self, "why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself"
Then I noticed the tears in her eyes, seriously what is wrong with this girl.
"What's wrong? Tell me, did some one hurt you?"
"No, it's just, I-I-m scared baba is gonna find out about something", her voice was weak.
"About what? Is it something really bad?"
"I kind of smoked a cigarette", she whispered.
" Are you crazy! Majnoona! You're smarter than that Nayaan! Hell you're even the one who hates cigarettes!", I whisper yelled.
"I do hate it, it was just hard I couldn't say no to Brittany, everyone was doing it".
"So if she jumped off a cliff would you do the same! Huh!"
" No, it's the last time I promise Layaan I feel really guilty, I just wanted to feel cool you know?"
I looked at her dead in the eyes, "no actually I don't know, all I know is that if you do that again imma Whoop your booty YA heard, just make istighfar, and leave that crowd of people please Nayaan", I pleaded.
"I did Layaan, I took of breath from the cigarette than I threw it away, Brittany and all them think I'm worthless now".
"Well you're not, when you lose Allah that's when you become worthless and a loser, plus if you smoke you could die young and never get married, I want to become an aunt nayaan", I turned the whole convo into a joke.
I walked out of her allowing her to finish her book and collapsed on my bed. It was already time for bed, well not really it was only 8 at night but it was some crazy hectic day today. Good night.
