"What is it baba? You had us so worried", I exclaimed as I gently tugged on Omar's Black TShirt for comfort."No don't worry it's nothing bad, if anything it's something you should be excited about", he replied with a genuine smile.
"Let's go inside to the living room", he said as he made his way to the backyard door entering the house.
"So you guys are getting married right..well we need to put a few dates And talk about the mahr", baba said.
"Oh right! Don't worry uncle as soon as Layaan heals we will do it then in shaa Allah what do you think?", Omar asked baba.
"Yes in shaa Allah! Let's say in about a month in shaa Allah we will have the engagement ceremony...let's say May 15th", baba replied.
"Layaan are you okay with that", Omar and baba asked together.
"Yes in shaa Allah! Seems fine with me", I replied as I looked down at my lap shyly.
"And ibny what about the mahr? Layaan what do you want?", baba asked us both.
"Uncle what ever Layaan asks for I will buy her or get her...no matter what it is", Omar said as he looked deep into my eyes which caused my fave to turn head and my palms to sweat.
"I don't want anything materialistic, I just want you to learn three surahs of medium length and recite them to me", I replied as I calming myself down.
"Is that it?", he asked.
"I mean you can throw in a chocolate bar", I joked.
"Uncle this is why I love your daughter, Wallahi her beautiful heart is enough for me", Omar stated.
"Ya awalady (my kids) may Allah bless you with a beautiful and hek athi marriage filled with love", baba said making duaa for us.
"Now I know you guys are betrothed but you guys can't always be together. Once the endgame my ceremony happens and you guys sign the marriage contract you can meet as you like". Baba said his final words got up and went to the backyard to finish watering the plants.
Omar took me to my room and make placed me into my bed. He was so sweet. I just wanted to hug the life out of him, but I knew it was haram.
He tucked in my pillow making sure I was comfortable and opened his mouth to talk. He then quickly closed his mouth and pulled out a small box from his Jeans pocket.
"Open it", he said with a smile.
I opened the small cute box only to find a beautiful, simple silver necklace that had a leafy pattern wrapped with pearls. It was one of the most beautiful simplistic necklace I've ever seen.
"It's ours, it was my moms, she told me when I was young to give it to the girl I love", he said shyly focusing his gaze on the necklace in my hands.
Omar took the necklace and tried putting it around my neck, but the hijab made it difficult since it was rather short.
"Well I tried being all romantic putting the necklace on you, but the hijab won't allow it", he chuckled showing his pearly white teeth.
"Haha it's okay I got it, you'll just have to see it on me during our endgame my ceremony", I replied as I held the beautiful necklace in my hands.
"Yes in shaa Allah, Im going to go, but call me if you need anything", Omar said as he walked out my room.
As soon as he walked out I took my my hijab. So this is how it feels like to wear hijab for more than two hours. It wasn't hard alhamdullah, I actually really like it. Omar is going to be so shocked when he sees me when I take off my hijab on our engagement ceremony.
Thinking of our engagement brought butterflies to my stomach. He was mine. I was his. Every Time I look at him my heart sinks in deep, my heart races, my fave turns red. I love him.
I looked at the necklace that was still in my hands and put it close to my heart. After looking at it once more I put it around on my neck. It was a very short necklace so it laid on the very top of my chest and neck. It framed my collar bones and chest. It was really a beautiful necklace.
I turned to my right side to take a nap before isha, to rest my aching body, but I couldn't. The thought of Omar kept penetrating my thoughts.
How he walked, how he talked, how he carried me, his smell, his blue eyes, his height, his quran voice, his kindness.
Ya Allah protect omar.
Before I knew it was isha time. I called on Nayaan to help me get out of bed to make wudu.
After a 10 minutes of struggle I managed to get out of my bed and make wudu. I prayed isha, the sunnah, Witr, and of course read surat ul mulk.
As soon as I finished I began making tasbeeh.
With that I climbed on my bed alone and went to sleep holding the necklace omar gifted me.
Jake POV
Every where I turn I see Layaan with that a**hole omar. Layaan doesn't date but why would she be so close with him. I went back to the hospital to apologize for accusing her of dating omar but as soon as I parked in the hospital parking lot I saw her omar carrying her bridal style to his car.
His filthy arms were around my girl. Does this guy not get a hint. Following her like some lost puppy. I carefully followed his car to see where they were going, but as I followed the car I noticed they were going to our neighborhood. They picked up Dina and drove to the neighborhood park.
My heart tore when I saw Layaan in crutches. It killed me knowing I did that to her. It was mem at for that a**hole omar. She had bruises covering her face, broken leg, and a fractured arm.
What killed me more than that was what she had on her head. A Heejab.
Her beautiful long silky black hair was covered by a scarf. Her curves that turned every guys head was covered with a flowy black simple dress.
Layaan tried walking with the crutches, but her face showed pain. I hated how Omar caressed her into his arms. How she wrapped her delicate arms around him. My goal was to execute this a**hole. I drove off to let of some steam, but it was no use.
I needed to let off my steam some other way. The illegal way.
