JAKE POV

So she's pregnant. She's pregnant. Ughh. That bastard. It seems like every time I come between them they only become happier. Maybe the kid could be mine? Why not? Omar just has to believe it? He believed her cheating on him, why wouldn't he believe the kid is mine? If he believes the kid is mine, he'll leave Layaan.

It was worth a try. Either way he was a dead man. Layaan is mine and mine alone. When I want something I will have it. One way or another. I don't lose.

OMAR POV

After spending breakfast with the whole family celebrating the great news I went out to buy something for Layaan. I didn't have anything in mind, and I surely didn't have much to buy her since I was saving up for us to get a place of our own.

I walked by the jewelry area and took a glance at the rings. Layaan loved rings even though she never wore them for too long since they would slip off her fingers.

My eyes came across a pearl ring with a silver band. It was simple yet it made a statement. I looked over at the price $1,250. Why couldn't it be $500 less. As I continued looking I felt a presence near me. I looked up to find Jake. Great.

"Oh I see you're looking at rings!" He said with an agitating voice. Actually everything about this bastard was agitating. I decided to ignore him.

"Oh you can't afford the things here but? Don't worry about it I'll buy her the expensive things, you stick to things from maybe the dollar store?" He went on. Ya Allah give me patience.

"You're right I can't afford half the things here. Alhamdullah my money is sufficient. I have Allah, I don't need money, if you knew Layaan that's something you would know". I replied not looking at him but at the rings.

"Sir can I see that one right there" Jake asked the jewelry handler.

He pulled out a pearl ring that hand diamonds surrounding the band of the ring and the pearl itself. Looked better than the one I saw. I looked at the price and cringed .$2,125.

"You think Layaan will like it?" He asked as he looked at the ring.

Ignore.

"Oh Omar, you know it's sad you believe she's holding your kid. How can you be so sure it's yours? What makes you think the kid she's carrying could be mine"

"Shut it Jake! My wife is not a cheater! You know as well as I do the kid is mine!" I grunted as I pulled his shirt towards me.

"Oh but you thought she was a couple days ago! You don't know what me and Layaan do behind your back? Ask her." He said so calmly as he pulled away from my grip.

"My wife is faithful. I knew she didn't cheat on me, but you sure can play mind games can't you. I'm not letting you get between us again" I grunted at him as I walked off.

"So are you not buying her a ring anymore? Ight man lets just keep this gift from me" I couldn't see his face but I knew he was smirking.

I wanted to buy something expensive for Layaan but I couldn't afford anything that caught my eye. I walked to the flower isle and bought her a big bouquet of flowers with of course chocolate.

Passing through the chocolate isle I couldn't help but think to myself about what Jake said. My kid, what was he on about. I let shaytan get to me once already I didn't need him getting to me now. Astaghfurallah.

I returned back home and was greeted by Layaan at the door.

"Where did you go! We were looking for you! So we could all go out and eat din- awwww for me! Omar! They are so pretty! You got me exactly what I wanted!"
