Everyone turned back an looked at me

Me. Look David you don't have to do this
David. I think l do for all l know we made a bet that if your white friend makes one mistake his as good as dead
Me. No l betted that if he made a mistake you would kill me
David. But....
Me. But nothing c'mon kill me
David. I won't do that ,lm never going to do that
Me. Soo let it be we all make mistakes sometimes even big mistakes but we just have to move on
David. He killed a man
Me. Because he was scared he didn't want to get killed first .....Uhm think of it as self defence
David. Fine one more mistake you are out you were lucky but do one more thing Kathy won't save you, now let's get walking

They exchanged hard cold stares
And David left . I looked at Francis and Clarrisa and l just couldn't believe it l just couldn't ... Francis looked like he wanted to talk to me but l couldnt at all talk to both of them they disgusted me ,l left before he could say a word and went back to were the others were

I found the group in a discussion circle and immediately joined in
David Soo look at the map the village is just a few miles from here and you guys know the plan right , we get there ask for more people to help us fight and tell them to come with us
Thomas . But sir don't they have their own hideout
David. Ohhh yeah they do Soo let's just ask for more warriors right and tell them the attack plan then we attack from there

We started walking and l saw Francis and Clarrisa walking a slowly behind us they looked sad and lt looked like they regretted all they had done l felt Soo bad for them and stopped for them
Soon they caught up with me and we started walking together
Francis. Look lm sorry for causing all this trouble it wasn't my intention and l get it if you don't want to talk to me but look Kathy it really got out of hand and l couldn't get hanged Soo l had to hide right
Me. Soo wat better hideaway am l right
Francis. Sorry
Me.............fine ... u are forgiven
Clarrisa. I'm not good with apologizes but lm sorry for not telling you bestie l just couldn't trust anyone at the moment okey l was confused and still in shock of what l had done , l didn't think l was capable of such
Me. I can't stay mad at you and you know that right
Clarrisa. Yeah it's a blessing in disguise
Me. (Chuckling) l forgive you

I gave her a warm hug

Me. But now what are you guys going to do hide forever
Clarrisa . Yeah at least until we win the war
Me. And if we lose
Francis. Then we are dead so atleast if we win we won't get arrested , the cops would be long gone and we will be starting a new life
Me. U said we win the war meaning you are helping us right
Francis . Ofcourse l wouldn't let you guys  fight alone could l
Me. Ofcourse not

I stared deeply into his eyes and he did the same

We arrived at the previous village me and Francis went to

Me. Well not really coz l arrived here at dark but Francis comes here a lot so he can show you

We followed Francis as he led us to the secret hutch
And soon we had arrived and people started climbing in . As soon as l got in my uncle spotted me
Uncle. Kathy you are back!!!!!!

He gave me a big warm hug
Me. Hello uncle

I said as l slowly drifted away from the hug

Uncle.how are you little one come on lets go sit
Me. I really wish we could but we are in a hurry
Uncle. Oh really were are you rushing off too
Me. Uhm let me just say ,the reason we are here is because we need your help
Uncle. Yes
Me. We need more soldiers to battle with us
Uncle. Well why didn't you just say Soo !! Lemme get ready
Me. No no not you ( everyone behind me started giggling and l also found my self giggling along) we need young people like Grace
Grace looked at us in shock
Grace. Me
Me. Yes people like her
Grace. I'm just a girl
Uncle. nosense  your cousin is doing it and she's a girl Soo why can't you
Grace , but who will help run the bar
Uncle. If you don't go with them they might not even be a bar now call your friends and go
Grace. Fine

She passed by me and whispered in a sacartic tone" thanks a lot"
I just kept quiet and watched as she went to call her friends .

After 6 minutes of talking and laughing with my uncle Grace had bought her friends with her they were about 10 girls and 5 boys l realised how the number of us were dominated by  girls
They began introducing themselves

I now knew their names Sophie, Dee dee, Daisy, Kimberly, Kylie, Vannesa , Cristal,Summer, Bianca,Autumn (triplet sister of Summer), Jake, Sean,  Penn ,Brian and Winter ( triplet of Summer and Autumn)
Me. Pleasure to meet you guys
Uncle. That's our team
Me. thank you uncle
Uncle. Anything for my little girl

Grace started rolling her eyes, l ignored her

Me. One last favour
Grace. What now are you going to  ask him to give you my heart (she said in a sarcastic tone)
Me. Uncle can l have some weapons
Uncle. You are in luck
Me. Really
Uncle. I have some of our old weapons in hidden , Grace bring the weapons
Grace. Huugh fine

She stomped her feet annoyingly # *drama queen* if you ask me
She came back with an old chest and a key on top of the chest she put it down next to uncle then handed him the key .
Uncle  . It's a little rusted (shy tone)
He unlocked the lock and it opened
Slowly
Then a number of weapons could be seen in it like about - 50knives , 20swords, Ninety arrows,30bows and 10shields  , the chest was really big Soo a number of tools were put inside it but they weren't
Me. WOW
David. Thank you soo much uncle

Wait why is he calling him uncle ,his my uncle not his

Uncle. It's the least l can do son ,but lve got one little thing for my niece here

He stood up and went to a nearby drawer and came back with a knife, a knife which looked Soo magical it had a golden handle grip with real diamond Pearls twinkling , it had sharp edges and was very shiny  . He removed it from the glass shield and gave it to me 
Me. What no
Uncle. Your father wants you to have it
Me. It's dad's

I took it from his cold wrinkled hands and held it in my hands l felt an instant connection with it as if it was made for me , l felt like it belonged with me . I watched the Pearls twinkling then l saw a handwriting it looked as if someone had written a message and it could only be reflected by light , l went to a nearby candle and the words appeared it was written *never give up and always fight for what is right be true to yourself remember there is more to u than you know*

A tear escaped from my eyes 🥺 and l felt my heart melt . I still remember the day he left me he said these words special words that l love you and l couldn't even tell him that l love him too 🥺

I love you dad and l will fight for u , mom , my family,my friends my people l will win this battle if it means me dying l am worth sacrificing all that for the people l love and l guess that's what's worth fighting for
