"The yellow ones represent healing, I'm sure of it!", Shinoa defended as she held the pot of yellow roses in her hands.

"No, you idiot, yellow represents friendship! White represents healing, I worked in a flowershop!", Yuu retorted, holding the vase of white roses in his hand.

"Well, you got fired for a reason!"

Mitsuba groaned, lying down on the bed. She pulled her phone out of her pocket, and made a quick Google Search. "Both of you are very wrong."

"Hah??", they said in sync.

"Shinoa, yellow roses represent jealousy, decrease of love and infidelity. Don't give those to Mika. Yuu, white roses represent innocence."

The two stared at the flowers in their hands, like two little children that just got hit with the news of their goldfish's death.

"Fuck.", Yuu said. "Which ones represent healing, then?"

"Peonies, it says here."

"Fucking-- I don't have fucking peonies!", he yelled as he rested the vase on the nightstand. He threw himself down on the bed, next to Mitsuba. He buried his face in his hands. "It's all going wrong!" His voice cracked.

"Yuu...", Shinoa started, resting the flower pot she was holding next to the vase. "Mika's really not gonna care about what flowers are on his nightstand, you know..."

"Still, I-!" He took a deep breath, sitting back up. He seemed exhausted, to say the least. His eyes were puffy and red, the bags under them giant. "I want things to be perfect for when he's coming home in a couple of hours..."

"He'll be here, he'll be home. I think that's all he needs for now, don't you think?"

"I guess..." Yuu sighed. "I guess you're right. I've been worrying myself crazy as of late."

"We know, Yuu. How about Shinoa and I pick up Mika at the hospital today?", Mitsuba started.

"Nope. Nuh-uh. Not gonna happen."

The blonde chuckled. "I figured you would say that." She glanced at the clock. It was 4PM. "It's about time you get going, then. I'll send Shino to the flower shop to grab some peonies, if that's something you really want."

Yuu smiled, nodding.

~~

"You got everything?", she asked, anxiously looking back and forth between the clock on her phone and the car. They nodded, hopping in the backseat of the car. "Good, he'll be home any second. Oh, Ashera, you're driving shotgun. I need you to assist me with wayfinding." The boy hummed in agreement, taking seat in the frontseat.

As she was about to hop in herself, a car pulled in the driveway. She froze, as her husband stepped out of the car.

"... What is this?" His deep voice was like a punch in the gut after overeating. The woman felt nausea build up in her stomach.

"O-Oh, it's nothing! Krul mentioned she needed to get to the bookstore! You know, kids and their school supplies." She shot him a forced smile.

"... Open the trunk."

The forced smile vanished. "The t-trunk? Oh, dear, I can assure you, there's nothing in there!", she said, waving her hand up and down.

"Means you can open it." He sat down his bag, and walked over to the back. He unlocked the trunk, and opened it, only two be faced with two suitcases. He shot daggers at his wife. How dare she lie to him? "What is this?", he demanded.

"A-Ah, well-!"

"We're going to grandma!", Krul said from the backseat. The man averted his gaze from his daughter back to his wife.
