"You're not taking Mika to go lasershooting with you, Yuu.", Mitsuba grumbled as she shoved the croissant into her mouth.
"Aw, come on! What are you, his mom?!", Yuu replied.
"There's no way he's okay enough to do something so exhausting. Cut him some slack, you're the one that's always overly worried about him."
Yuu frowned, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair. He had hoped to finally take Mika out for a real date, and had felt that lasershooting was something they'd both enjoy a lot. He had even gone out of his way to get croissants for the boy's mothers, aka Mitsuba and Shinoa, in order to maybe have them give their permission.
But alas, his plan had failed him.
"Can't you take him out to dinner? You know, like a normal person?", Shinoa chuckled as she sipped her tea.
Yuu groaned. "That's so boring!"
"Stop yelling, you'll wake him up.", the blonde girl said.
"Jesus, you really are his mom."
"Shut it. But Shinoa's right." Mitsuba stirred in her cup of hot chocolate. "Go to the movies or something. You're being a little hypocritical here."
"Hah? How do you mean?"
"One moment you're barely allowing Mika to walk because he could hurt himself, and next you're asking to go lasershooting. Get it together."
"Oh. Yeah, that's fair..."
The trio's attention turned to the stairs, when light, slow footsteps made their way down. Into the kitchen walked Mika, hair in a disheveled ponytail and a yawn plastered on his face.
"Morning, sunshine!", Shinoa greeted.
"Mm.", he replied.
"Always so cheery!"
"Leave him be, Shino. We know he's not a morning person.", Mitsuba giggled. They got a friendly middle finger in response to that. Mika finally managed to rub the sleep out of his eyes, fully taking in his surroundings.
"Yuu-chan!", he smiled, grabbing the empty seat next to him and sitting down.
"There's the excitement.", Shinoa continued to tease.
Mika felt blood rush to the tips of his ears. "S-Shut up!"
"Ignore her. Did you sleep well, Mika?", Yuu finally spoke. He rested his hand on Mika's thigh, caressing it with his thumb.
The blonde nodded. "I did, yeah... I-I don't want to be rude, but, how come you're here?"
"Oh, I-"
"He was asking our permission to marry you."
"W-What?! No I wasn't!", Yuichiro's voice cracked. He cleared his throat, squeezing his eyes shut in the hopes of preventing a blush from striking his face. "We should go out. Like, an actual date. That's just what I've been thinking...", he muttered. Green eyes shot up to meet their blue counterpart.
"Give me five minutes to shower and I'll be ready."
"O-Oh, right now?! I haven't even planned anything yet!"
"That's fine, we can go grab some breakfast first."
~~
"Did anything pop into your head yet, Yuu-chan?", Mika asked as he took a sip of the iced coffee in his hands. He winced, the sudden cold hurting his head.
"Maybe we could just head back to my house and watch a movie or something... I'm literally so uninspired.", Yuu chuckled. When the light ran green, he shifted gears and began driving again.
