Part 5

Steve storms into the kitchen where Tony and Nat are talking. Tony is pouring himself a cup of coffee and Nat is making a smoothie. They both stop mid-laugh when Steve bursts in yelling.

"Tony!"

"What are you pissed about now?" Tony sighs in exasperation.

"Y/N is up to something with Fury." Steve slaps his hand on the counter for emphasis.

Nat rolls her eyes "Steve, not this again."

Steve's exasperated that no one believes him. "Yes! She's up to something."

Bucky storms into the kitchen, he immediately stops and glares at Steve.

"I know your mother raised you better! What the hell is wrong with you Steve!? She's not enhanced and you threw her into a wall. I heard it from down the hall! If I hadn't gotten there to stop you, you could have hurt her! As it is I'm damn sure you left bruises!" Bucky was standing very still but he was almost vibrating with anger.

Both Nat and Tony are stunned at what Bucky just said. This was so out of character for Steve, they were shocked.

"Jeezus Steve!" Nat slams the blender cup on the counter.

"You did WHAT??" Tony takes a threatening step toward Steve.

"I didn't throw her anywhere. She tried to walk away. I stopped her and I pushed her up against the wall. But I'm not the bad guy in this! She is hiding something! Why can't all of you see that?" Steve throws his hands up frustrated with the situation.

"Rogers I'm only going to say this once, Do. Not. Touch. Her. Again. You may not like her, but I've checked her out and I know that she's ONLY here to be our assistant. If you do, you'll be out of here!" Tony stalks out of the kitchen to find Y/N to make sure she's ok.

Steve storms out of the kitchen toward the training room needing to blow off some steam. Bucky follows closely behind him not saying anything but fuming and keeps glaring over at Steve.

"I'm glad you decided on this room" Bucky lands a hard left hook on Steve's jaw with his metal arm.

Bucky and Steve are fighting hard. Bucky just threw Steve into the wall and was advancing on him when Sam came running in.

"Hey!! Enough!" Sam pulls Bucky away from Steve.

"Sam, he definitely hasn't had enough! He put his hands on her! I know he hurt her, I saw her crying!" Bucky pushes Sam away and moves toward Steve again.

"I know, man! I talked to Nat and Stark. I agree with you, he deserves a longer ass beating but we have a mission in 2 days. If either of you are hurt, it could jeopardize the mission. I know Y/N's important to you, to all of us but, we need to get this information from Hydra!"

Breathing heavy, Bucky shakes his head and glares at Steve. "Fine. Steve, I swear, if you don't get your head out of your ass where she's concerned a mission won't stop me next time." Bucky storms off leaving Sam and Steve alone.

Steve sits up with his back against the wall. Sam looks over at him disappointed.

"Dude, what is going on with you? This isn't you."

"I don't know. I can't put my finger on it. She's.... Today she couldn't look Fury in the eye. There's something between them. Something that makes me nervous. And there's something about her that can't get out of my head. I don't trust her. She's hiding something." Steve looks almost pleadingly at Sam trying to make him understand.

"Seriously! I get that you think she's not on the up and up. But saying you think she's hiding something, isn't enough. Besides maybe she stopped working for Fury because something went wrong and he makes her nervous now? Did you think of that? Besides we all have shit in our past. She's only been here about 3 weeks, she doesn't have to bare her soul to us. You gotta get over this man."

Defeated Steve sighed, "I know." Steve turns and punches a bag in frustration throwing it across the room.
