We luckily made it through the barrier before it changed to border the wolf realm. I shuddered at seeing the haunted looking woods. Nyx and Hailey guided me away from the scary looking realm. Nyx then pulled away and walked off with Ajax. Hailey noticed my expression, so she encouraged me to run after her. Why not?

I ran after her and grabbed her arm. Ajax and Nyx looked at me in confusion. I shooed Ajax away, which he didn't care about. He had more important stuff to do anyways. I dragged Nyx away, not before seeing Hailey give me two thumbs up. I took Nyx to her favorite spot in the cave, overlooking the serene pond.

"Can I talk to you?" I asked.

"I don't think I have much option." She humorlessly laughed. "What do you want to speak about?" She seemed exhausted.

"You and Eris." She groaned in annoyance. "I want to tell you why I believe you cheated on me." She rolled her eyes. "After we argued about you spending a lot of time with her, I-I made you a cake and-"

"So that's why there was a ruined cake on the hall floors." I nodded at her.

"And then I-"

"How'd you make a cake if you were in the room the entire time?" I quirked a brow at her. "I know you said you'd be right back and then you left. But that wouldn't have been enough time for you to make a cake, return, and then run off to the woods. The timeline doesn't add up." Nyx scratched her head.

"Huh?!" I shook my head. "My point is that I made a cake to say sorry and-"

"That makes no sense since you had already apologized and then it led to passionate sex." She blushed. Wait! Say what?! "You felt bad for being jealous and wanted to tell me you trusted me and-"

"No! I didn't apologize to you!" She looked way more confused. "It's... and don't interrupt..." She nodded at me. "I felt terrible that I overreacted, so I made you a cake. I walked to our room and saw you in bed with Eris. We locked eyes as she came onto your fingers. It made no sense to me why you'd be hooking up with her, especially after all we had. And then under my roof and her with brown hair was definitely a shock, but-"

"Wait a second." She cut me off. "What?" Her voice got dark. "You mentioned her having brown hair." I nodded. "And she- she... I'M GONNA KILL HER!" The nymphs in the pond flinched at Nyx's tone.

"What's-"

"She's a FUCKING elf, Kennedy!"

"And..."

"Elves have the ability to shapeshift and I have an inkling she assumed your identity to seduce me." She pinched the bridge of her nose. "That sneaky, conniving bitch! We're gonna kill her NOW!" I yelped when Nyx yanked me into the air.

Nyx quickly flew us to the palace grounds. Ellio and Alex were about to ask us something, but Nyx held her hand up. Cal and Zeli then rounded the corner. Zeli was laughing and had her arms linked with Cal. Since they were in our way, Nyx picked Cal up by the collar and tossed him out the window. Zeli was about to yell at Nyx, so Nyx shoved her off the balcony. Okay, Nyx is not playing around.

The hallway we turned into had Onyx pressed against the wall while Haze passionately kissed her. Unfortunately, they were in our way, so Nyx pried them apart and threw them through a wall. Jeez, I hope we don't- Ash saw us. He took one look at Nyx and turned the other way.

Nyx kicked open the door to the council room. The members all turned to us. My mom and the advisors were staring at us in confusion. They then gasped when Nyx marched up to Eris and grabbed her by the throat. Nyx then slammed Eris into the wall. The leaders stood up in an effort to get Nyx to free Eris, but Roman's glare held them in place. Ajax shortly arrived and facepalmed himself. He then charm spoke, so the leaders would passively leave.
