Ken's dad in the pic above ^^

After bawling for 10 minutes, we drove to school. It was more like Ash and Amara were grumbling about how loud I was crying. Amara said I looked like shit and should consider using makeup. Ash said that even a hungover human looked better than me. Yuna glared at them and demanded they leave the car.

Yuna helped me calm down before we went inside. I gave her a thankful hug when we exited the car. I walked inside and made a beeline for my friends. I saw Ash say something to Sam since Logan was too busy admiring Amara. Sam looked around until her eyes found mine. She ran to me and gave me a tight hug.

"Ash told us what happened. Are you alright?" She pulled back. I'm surprised that Ash and Amara told my friends. "Ash and Amara were concerned about you, so they came to find us, but Logan is obsessed with Amara. Logan is a lost cause since he didn't hear anything out of Amara's mouth." She rolled her eyes.

"I didn't think they cared about my well-being."

I looked over Sam's shoulder to see Amara and Ash rolling their eyes. They then left to attend their respective classes. Logan began pouting when Amara left him. Something shocked me though. Amara took a deep breath and stopped. She then turned and motioned for Logan to walk with her. He squealed... the boy LITERALLY squealed and ran after her.

"He's whipped." Yuna and Sam commented.

We giggled and walked to our classes. Yuna and I took notes while also talking to each other. Maybe the reason I don't do well in class is because I never pay attention. I wasn't worried since Yuna would fill me in on everything in the class later. She was a walking encyclopedia.

At lunch, Logan rested his cheek against his hand. He then stared like a lovesick puppy at Amara. Amara used her hand to push his face away, but he was determined to stare at her. If I were her, I'd be creeped out if a guy said nothing, yet stared at me like a creep. Well, a creepy twin with a creepy admirer is a match made in Heaven.

Ash spent the period getting on Sam's nerves. He purposely invaded her space. She'd have to shove his arms away from her space, but he'd just put it back. His legs were in the way, so she couldn't comfortably use the table. She'd move to make more space for herself, but he'd then move again to irritate her.

I requested for Yuna to tell me more about her family. She smiled and began recalling her childhood of living in the countryside. I smiled when she'd light up at her early years. I then felt an oncoming headache. I gripped my head and groaned. The conversation at the table ceased since the angels immediately turned to me.

"What's wrong?" Yuna held my head.

"J-Just a headache I think." I met her eyes. "I-I don't know why, but- ow!" I gripped it harder. "It feels like someone is trying to invade my mind." I whimpered.

"Who?" Ash looked at Yuna.

"Maybe someone's trying to communicate with her telepathically, but if it hurts that much... someone must be communicating with you from outside this plane."

"Someone in a different realm, perhaps?" Ash asked.

"I don't know, but it hurts... and it's gone." I was beyond confused. "Do you think it was Lilitu?" I whispered her name.

"Possibly." Amara's brows scrunched. "It'd be stupid of her to do that since it'd cause both parties to feel pain."

"Well, it's gone now." I shrugged and ate my sandwich.

During English class, I was more concerned with trying to figure out who was trying to communicate with me. I had no idea what piece of writing the teacher wanted us to do. Amara was studiously working while I was lost in my thoughts. I then felt the oncoming headache again, but this time... there was a voice.

Where'd you go? Nyx sounded angry. You just disappeared. Where'd you go?

Leave me alone, Nyx. I replied with an eye roll.

You just left. Where'd you go?

Oh, so now you realized I left. I sassily replied.

Well, yes. How could she have not known I've been gone for days? I felt myself tear up at my lack of noticeability. I had to stay a few hours with Yugi and then I got up to find you because I wanted to know why you ran into the woods. I tried finding you, but had no idea where you ran off to. I then tried to find Ajax, but I was informed he left. Hailey then came and told me you left for the human realm-

Congrats on the obvious.

The point is that I immediately went to the gates, but they're sealed shut.

What?! I didn't know that!

Yes, your mother ordered the sealing since a small army of demons had infiltrated the borders. Unfortunately, it's not a spell that can be easily overridden, so we can't get to you. Now, why are you in the human realm? And why didn't you tell me? I need to be there to protect-

Protect?! After what you did?!

What are you- okay, what did I do that was so bad?

You're just mocking me!

I have no idea why you're so mad. What is wrong with you? Why are you so angry at me?

Do you honestly take me for an idiot?!

What?! No! I just don't know why you seem to hate my guts all of a sudden. What did I do? Whatever it is... I'm sorry. I just want us to be good again. She sounded really sad, but she's the one who cheated on me.

We're done, Nyx! Now, leave me alone!

You're breaking up with me?!

Yes!

WHY?! I winced at the yelling in my head. I saw Amara turn to look at me. Why? What caused you to want to end things? We're mates, Kennedy... you can't just leave me. I heard her voice crack. Please, don't leave me. I'm nothing without you. I sensed the vulnerability in her voice.

Nyx, I-

I'm coming to get you.

No!

Yes! It's too dangerous having you in the human realm with Lilitu and her demon army lurking around. I care about your safety, so I'm coming to get you. Your mother is also going to utilize the portal to retrieve you, so you're coming back whether you like it or not.

Go away, Nyx!

Ken, you can't- we'll have to continue this conversation later. Eris is calling for me to join her to a meeting-

Sure! Go back to your mistress!

Ken, what are you- you know what? We'll talk about this later.

I let out an exaggerated scream. I immediately blushed when everyone turned to look at me. I awkwardly laughed and said I accidentally stabbed myself with a pencil. Everyone raised a brow and turned back around to listen to the lecture. Amara kept staring at me in concern. I ignored her and stared at the blank sheet of paper before me.
