I walked into the library to see my mom with her head in her hands. I could hear her groaning in annoyance. I noticed an open book next to her. I flitted my eyes over the page and saw it was a picture of my mom and Lilitu when they were younger. They looked so carefree and happy. My mom felt me, so she looked up and gave me a pained smile. She then noticed my eyes and sighed.
"We were a few thousand years old in that picture." She fondly smiled at it. "We were so young."
"That's an understatement." She rolled her eyes at me. "I wish it didn't turn out this way." I sat on the chair.
"I agree." She leaned against the desk. "You appear angry. What happened?" I was about to speak, but my mom cut me off. "Was it Nyx... no! Kikimora?" She smirked when I groaned. "What did the little devil do now?" She laughed.
"She doesn't take things seriously." I sighed. "It's infuriating how she believes everything is a joke and then Zena is Acacia crazy. She only thinks about 2 things: pasta and Acacia. That's it!" I exclaimed.
"Zena is part wolf, so the mate bond is felt stronger in her. Her wolf brain is wired to only think about her mate. It's impossible for her to focus on anything else when her mate is far away. As for Kikimora..." My mom chuckled. "She's smitten with someone, so she finds everything to be an inconvenience since she wants to be around that person."
"She likes someone?" I smirked at the newfound gossip. "Who is it and how do you know?"
"Lara overheard her speaking to Zena. And the girl is a human." My eyes widened. "I know... big scandal."
"I definitely want to see the poor girl that is the object of Kikimora's affection." My mom and I laughed. "Mom?" She hummed. "How did you and dad first meet?" She smiled fondly at the memory.
"He was totally oblivious to any romantic advances." I laughed since that sounded like my dad. "He was more of a take action and think later type of person." She smirked.
Flashback
I chuckled as I walked along the beach. Because I was Queen, guards were constantly around me, escorting me to even the minute of places. I had enough and just wanted some alone time, so I gave them the slip. I was able to mind control them into taking the day off. I only have to hope that Ajax is busy and doesn't realize I'm without security. It would be risky to journey through the town alone, so I entered the human realm.
Not the safest thing to do when demons can cross into this neutral plane. Whatever, I don't think my sister would be interested in something so underwhelming as killing me in the human realm. If anything, she'd drag me down to the Dark Realm and kill me there. Enough with the morbid talk, I'm supposed to be having fun!
We didn't have any beaches in the light realm, so this was a welcoming surprise. I watched the dolphin pods swim in the ocean and young children happily splash away. I hope to one day have a child of my own, but that would require me to actually settle with a man... yuck!
I've had many suitors over my long life, but I never took to any of them. The men were mostly shallow and only interested in the title they could have. It was also very limiting since I could only marry an angelic man, but all the angelic men were trash! Well, most of them were. There were only a select few that I was fond of: Ajax, Ash, Ellio, Roman, and Yugi!
The latter two were gay and married, so they were off the market. Ajax was my dearest friend and married to Lilly. And Ash and Ellio... eww. I don't see them as anything but friends. Yep, my options are very slim, but I'd rather be picky than have some imbecile corrupt my kingdom.
