"Wait, Jake!" Sunghoon called, chasing after the boy who grabbed his jacket and angrily made his way towards the door of Sunghoon's house. Sunghoon grabbed Jake's hand just as he was about to leave, pulling him back inside and towards his chest, causing them to meet in an awkward half hug.
Both boys froze, their sudden closeness causing their hearts to beat faster. Jake felt Sunghoon staring straight at him, but he refused to look up from the floor, too focused on the warmth of his chest. Sunghoon stepped forward, causing Jake to take a step back, accidentally hitting the door with his foot and slamming it shut. Jake gasped as the sound brought him to his senses, quickly looking up, his head knocking into Sunghoon's nose.
Sunghoon groaned, quickly stepping away and clutching his nose with his hands. Jake's eyes widened as he quickly ran towards Sunghoon with worry. "Oh my God I'm so sorry are you okay? Does it hurt?" Sunghoon looked at him, hands still covering his nose, "Yes it fucking hurts!" Sunghoon sighed, moving his hand from his nose as Jake gasped. "You're bleeding!"
"No shit, it's not ketchup is it?"
Jake ignored Sunghoon's sarcasm and ran into the kitchen, grabbing an ice pack and rushing back towards Sunghoon who was now sitting on the couch wiping his blood with tissues. He sat right next to him and quickly applied the ice pack to the area he hit, shocking Sunghoon.
He froze, staring at Jake who took the tissues from his hand and began to clean up the blood instead, his other hand holding the ice pack. Their faces too close for Sunghoon's liking, Sunghoon could see every little detail he missed before. He didn't remember Jake's eyes being this dark of a shade of brown, or the perfect bridge of his nose, or the way his full lips curved upwards at it's commissures, and suddenly he didn't remember the pain in his nose. For a split second—and Sunghoon would've missed it if he wasn't paying such close attention—Jake met eyes with Sunghoon, pausing all his movements, then looked right away and continued, feeling Sunghoon's eyes continuing to pierce through him and hoping Sunghoon couldn't see the light red dusting his cheeks.
In the end, it was Jake who cleared his throat and got up from the couch, ruining the moment. "All done?" Sunghoon asked softly. Jake avoided his eyes, nodding. "Um I should probably go home now." He said, although he didn't really want to leave. Sunghoon nodded, his face red as he walked Jake out into the dark night. They bid their awkward goodbyes before Sunghoon closed the door. Jake leaned onto the door, sighing softly and sliding to sit on the floor, a hand on his beating heart. He leaned his head back, taking a breath. "I'm in some deep shit" he muttered bitterly to himself.
