22. don't speak, fake friend

"What happened to you?" Jungwon looked at Jake with disgust as the older walked towards his locker drowsily. "I got like no sleep last night" Jake replied, failing to put the code into his locker properly after 3 tries. "What is in the bags under your eyes that's weighing them down so much?" Niki said as he walked towards the duo, helping Jake get his locker open. Jake pouted, "Is it that bad?"

"You look like a racoon."

Jungwon smacked the back of Niki's head who glared back at him. Jungwon ignored him, smiling at Jake with concern. "Okay so why did you not sleep last night?" Jake sighed, "I ended things with Sunghoon."

"WHAT?" The two boys exclaimed, "but you can't! All my hard work getting your asses together!"

"Shut up Jungwon" Niki said, eyeing Jake's sad expression. Jungwon read the room, finally calming down.

"I did the right thing right? He was just being so stubborn and I felt so suffocated and we weren't even dating yet so how would I have felt if we actually started da-"

"You did the right thing Jake," Niki interrupted, "for the both of you." Jake nodded, calming himself down from his word vomit when a wave of emotions hit. Niki's eyes widened, "seriously please don't we're at school."

But it was too late, the first tear fell from Jake's eye and before he knew it he began to cry. His sobs caused eyes to land on the trio as Niki and Jungwon desperately tried to stop him.

"Jake please, people are gonna think we're bullying you."

"I'm sorry I c-can't help it."

"This is so embarrassing"

"D-Do you think I'm not embarrassed?!"

"Oh my God Jake why are you crying?" A voice called and suddenly Sunoo was hugging the crying teen. "Who did this? Who do I need to beat up?" Sunoo asked, stroking Jake's head and getting a soft laugh from the boy. Jungwon and Niki relaxed upon seeing him stop crying. "I'm okay, thanks Sunoo"

"Seriously though, what happened?" Sunoo asked after the two departed, "Jake ended things with Sunghoon." Sunoo gasped, "no way why?"

"It's a long story," Jake answered, "do you think he's okay?"

Jungwon's eyes wandered away from Jake, landing on a smiling Sunghoon who was talking to Jay as the two walked down the hallway happily. Jungwon quickly jumped in front of Jake, hiding his view. Jake jumped back, weirded out by Jungwon's hands on his shoulders refusing to let him move. "Um are you gonna let go?"

"Don't worry about Sunghoon," Jungwon said with a forced smile, "just worry about yourself."

Jake sighed, "I guess you're right, anyways I'm gonna go to the bathroom and cry some more."

"What?"

"I'm kidding, I need to take a shit wanna come?"

"Ew no, go" Jake laughed and walked away from the trio.

"Did you guys see Sunghoon? Why is he so happy after he dumped Jake?" Jungwon said angrily.

"Technically Jake dumped h-"

"Jake literally cried twice in the past two days because of him and he's smiling and laughing with his friends?! I swear I'll cut off his dick and feed it to-"

"Hey guys" Heeseung said as Jay and Sunghoon approached him. The two smiled back at him. "Sooo why is Jungwon staring at us like he's gonna choke us?" Sunghoon coughed, forcing the boys to look away from Jungwon and to him. "Don't attract attention, Jake broke up with me last night"
