Lukes pov
"What is up with you today man?" Reggie says.
"Let's just go home Reg. I mean, Julie and Luke have to write so there's nothing we can do at the moment anyway" says Alex.
They walk off leaving me by myself.
Immediately, I know what I have to do.
I run back to elevator and click on the top floor. When the door pings open, I run to the rooftop pool and jump right in, still fully clothed.
"Luke! We've missed you up here!" the lifeguard starts, "Where's the others?"
"They've gone home. Nothing to do" I say.
"Let them know that I expect to see them here soon" he says.
"Sure thing!" I say before grabbing a towel to dry my hair and walking back into the elevator.
I push the button and the elevator starts travelling down.
I pull my phone out and try to turn it on.
"Shit" I mumble.
It must have gotten water damage from the pool. I forgot it was in my pocket.
When this damn elevator finally gets to the right floor, I step out to find Marcel with a stern look on his face.
"Heyyy Marcel" I say rubbing the back of my neck.
"Luke why don't you pick up your phone! You missed Julie in the studio. She was amazing by the way! Good find" he says.
"Oh um, I kind of jumpedinthepoolandforgotmyphonewasinmypocket" I say quickly, hoping he wouldn't understand.
"Of course you did. I'll have someone get that sorted for you. You and Julie need to write a couple of songs. We need some choice"
"Yes sir" I say saluting. Marcel laughs and takes me over to the recording studio.
When we get there, Julie is singing another song.
She looks so comfortable with what she's doing. Every word draws me in more and more. Everything about the scene in front of me is so perfect and mesmerizing; the way her thick, curly hair is bouncing on her shoulders, the way her soft lips move together as she sings every word perfectly, the way she does her cute little nose scrunch on the high notes, and most perfect of all, the girl in front of me, Julie Molina.
This all just makes me even more excited to work with her.
"I'ma stand tall" I get snapped out of my trance by loud applause as she clings onto that last note for just the right amount of time.
I cheer and clap as loud as I can.
When Julie walks out of the booth, I run over to her as fast as I can and engulf her in a bear hug, picking her up off the ground at the same time.
"Jules that was amazing!" I say.
"Thanks. Now put me down!" She chuckles.
I place her on the ground and shoot her a smile.
"When did you get here?" She asks.
"Just after you started" I say.
Before we can finish our conversation, Marcel walks over.
"Julie that was amazing!" He says.
"Already used that one" I chime in proudly.
"Okay then, that was breathtaking! It was even better than bright. Are you sure you've never done this before?" He says.
"Positive" Julie laughs.
