- The Existence, Chapter 1:
"The Intruder"
.

"This... is boring."

Whether it was burning a forest to ashes, flying through the clouds, or terrorizing a town without revealing himself; all of that no longer amused him. Was it because he had lived for too long? Or was it because he had no one other than forest animals to accompany him in the recent years?

"... un. The agreement between the humans and my kind must have been forgotten already, right?" After all, it had been countless years. With the ever-changing rulers accompanied by the short lifespan of that race, it would not surprise him if the agreement was no longer remembered in the passing of time.

Since that was the case, what stopped him from seeing the human empires? "The very least I could do is not kill the annoying ones, I suppose."

Wind blew in fervor, as if supporting him with that decision. "Sen, do you not like me spilling human blood?" A lotus flower bloomed into existence right in front of his eyes, surrounded by the glow of mana as it floated around him. Even without words, the message the lotus flower wanted to tell him came across.

Ruby jeweled eyes flashed with momentary amusement. "So long as those foolish ones dare not provoke me, I will not lay a finger on them. Do you think that is to your satisfaction, Sen?" The lotus flower floated near and its petals caressed his cheek.

"First, let us visit the empire of that person. Ansha told me that something interesting happened in that place." The lotus flower shook a little before landing on top of his head. "Oh? You plan on going with me?"

Its petals rustled, agreeing with his words without a moment's waste. "Then, change your appearance. A lotus flower out of its habitat for long is an unnatural sight. Humans will wonder what kind of trick I used to do that and you do not want me to strike them down, yes?"

The lotus flower visibly shivered before a green light of mana enveloped it. What appeared after it died down was a songbird smaller than his palm. "I suppose that works." The bird tweeted and nestled itself on his head. At least, they wouldn't stand out this way.

"All that is left is to hide these eyes and hair." With a snap of his fingers, a pure white glow with hints of blue engulfed his entire being. Once it disappeared, his ruby jeweled eyes became an inconspicuous black and his eye-catching icy blue hair turned into muddy strands.

"Shall we be on our way, Sen?" The songbird flapped its wings in excitement. "Let us see if what Ansha said is true."

Because after living for so long, what he dreaded most was the utter boredom that came along with his lifespan. His days were monotonous, as if his entire life was an endless loop that would never end.

So, when Devansha told him that things seemed to be interesting in that little empire, he thought that maybe his life would be the same if he goes there.

.

.

But he didn't think that little empire he called little was not that little anymore.

Despite what he told himself in the process of journeying to this place, he could not resist the numerous trinkets and oddly delicious food displayed in the market. The wonderful scent overwhelmed the disgusting stench of humans and he was a little grateful for that.

The songbird tweeted, flapping its wings when it saw something in the distance. "Un? You saw the magician?" By magician, he meant that young one who often passed by his home in the past few years. "Let us not bother him. He had not done anything to the forest, after all."
