C29: the world of elves (2)

How... annoying.

That was Ijekiel's first thought as he sat in the cafeteria of one of Whnor City's laboratories. The young man fiddled with the earring he exchanged with Idris a few months ago, trying to soothe his irritation. His husband had left a few moments ago, telling him that he would be surveying the area in case there were any danger around.

Unlike the world he lived in at the human realm, the worlds inside the elven realm were filled with all sort of magical creatures Ijekiel had never seen before. And although there were a few magical creatures back home, the amount could not compare in this one.

From what Idris told him on the way here, there were basically no non-magical creature that lived in other realms. The mana was abundant and it was like oxygen to the other races.

It was the first time he had ever heard of it.

Unlike his world, magic was something common in this place; though, the magic they have was called alchemy. The elves concoct magical potions instead of conjuring magic circles.

As mentioned previously, Idris had gone out for a quick patrol, leaving Ijekiel alone.

And... he was little bit annoyed from all the stares he received from the elves in the cafeteria. Ever since Idris sent him here to eat breakfast, Ijekiel had lost count of how long these people had been staring at him. Thus, he fiddled with his earring to distract his thoughts and sooth his nerves.

He didn't even find the food interesting unless his husband was back by his side.

It took another ten minutes for Idris to appear and when he sat down across Ijekiel, a look of surprise painted his features when he saw the untouched food on the table. "Husband..?"

Ijekiel looked away with a puff of his cheeks.

This made Idris a bit nervous.

"Husband, is something the matter?"

It had not even been over thirty minutes since they parted so what made his little husband act like this? Idris looked around, causing the elves who had been staring at their direction to look away, before he shifted his gaze back to Ijekiel. "Did someone bully you?"

"..." The young man remained pouty.

"Does the food not suit your taste?"

"..."

"... had this king offended you in some way?"

"Why didn't you take me with you?" Ijekiel, this child, was obviously throwing a silent tantrum as he glanced at Idris from the corner of his eyes. The issue was not simply because he was clingy, well, in some way, it was also because of that.

More so, it was because being separated from Idris in such an unfamiliar place made his trauma resurface.

He didn't like that feeling that ate away his heart.

"I apologize," Idris fiddled with his fingers as he rested his hands on the table. "This king actually set up a barrier on top of checking the area. This one was afraid that you would be overwhelmed by the mana." At last, Ijekiel's tense shoulders relaxed as he faced his husband.

The young man felt a little guilty. It wasn't like his husband was that kind of person who would abandon someone, much less someone like him. "I know; I'm sorry. I guess I was just a bit anxious since this is a foreign world." Ijekiel muttered under his breath, red tinging his ears.

Lips twitching, Idris shot this little husband of his a helpless look before he extended his hand to stroke Ijekiel's head. "This husband understands. This one will make sure to stay by your side at all times."
