C20: cupid is a knavish lad, thus to make (fe)males mad

Athanasia was about to go insane.

On top of Jennette visiting and her father becoming the man she had read about from the novel, Idris has yet to be found.

That Idris who gave her comfort with his narcissistic remarks.

Lucas, what am I supposed to do?

.

.

A violent sneeze escaped Lucas as he stood before the Sacred World Tree.

"Huh," he sniffed before a frown formed on his face. "I feel like something happened." Red eyes looked sharp at the Sacred World Tree, causing it to wave its branches in panic.

"Come on, just give me what I want already so that I could head back. The princess and that old man must have made trouble already."

Sacred World Tree shook its branches even more, causing Lucas to roll his eyes at it.

"Yeah, this is going to take a bit more time than I initially thought, you stubborn old tree."

.

.

"Have they found anything?"

"No, princess."

Sitting inside her room was none other Athanasia. Before her stood both Lily and Felix. Ever since running away and returning back to the palace, not a word of Idris' sighting was reported back to her. Even the ones who had gone to search the Forest of Khione.

The princess bit her lower lip and asked, "What about Ijekiel? I haven't been informed how he is since he fell sick."

"His condition is a lot better now compared to a few days ago, princess. Fortunately, his fever wasn't that severe and Octavius found him before it could get worse." Lily shot the princess a look, wanting to say something but decided against it.

Athanasia slumped against the back of the couch, heaving a deep breath. Why is it that the moment Lucas left, things became this way? Just trying to think of what happened this past few weeks made her head throb.

"Let's try and search again. I don't believe that Idris would disappear without even telling us, especially to Ijekiel." Even when she had left the palace, Athanasia had tried to look for a trail that would lead her to him. However, no matter how hard she tried, it was like Idris ceased to exist ever since that day.

If he didn't confront daddy, would he still be here? In a way, she blamed herself ever since she found out that Idris was nowhere to be seen. From Octavius' report, Idris confronted her father after talking to her that day and casted a powerful spell that no one had ever heard of.

In Felix' words, it was a spell related to one's memories. But if Idris could restore her father's memories, he would have done it straight away and not be so roundabout. Memory magic was already complex to begin with. Hearing what Idris did is already remarkable.

Soon, Lily and Felix had to leave, but not before expressing their concern to her.

Once she was left alone, Athanasia sunk into her thoughts once more.

Come to think of it, Idris once told me... that he had lived in my previous world before. But how come... he treats me so familiarly? He never told me about that part. The princess moved around and lied down on the couch, eyes absentmindedly staring ahead.

Blue hair and... red eyes. I never met someone with those features before but it still feels familiar, even when I first saw Idris when I was a child.
