C30: the world of elves (end)
Círdan wanted to tour the two stunning elves around Whnor City. Although there were little things that could be considered exciting in this little city, there were still a few things that could attract travelers. However, when he looked for them, they were nowhere to be seen.
They left no traces of their stay, as if the two of them were just a figment of their imagination.
"... where did they go?"
.
.
A pair of giant wings flapped against the clouds.
The humongous figure soared above the clouds, giving a low roar under its breath.
It was a little worried about the tiny figure riding its neck.
"Do you feel any discomfort at all, husband?"
"No!" Ijekiel Alpheus yelled into the wind. Despite the fact that his husband, the dragon he was riding on, could still hear him even if he spoke quietly, the young man still screamed. "I don't feel queasy at all!"
In fact, Ijekiel brimmed with excitement.
Today was the day he and his husband would form the soul and body contract which meant things would go back to the way they were thousands of years ago. This time, he would be able to keep his promise.
To spend his entire life with Idris.
Holding onto the horns to keep himself in place, two aquamarine eyes — which were disguised golden ones — shifted their attention down to the dragon's head. The more the young man looked, the more his heart swelled with delight.
He and his husband had gone through many things. Several ups and downs which had almost broke his heart but Ijekiel was happy that they both persevered until they managed to find each other again. Although it left a bit of shadow in his mind, Ijekiel figured that it was better than wallowing in darkness.
The pain and despair he felt when Idris disappeared must have been what Idris felt thousands of years ago — however, it would have been a hundredfold worse. To be alive and aware and spending so many years all alone, with the knowledge that he might never see Ijekiel again; for Idris to reach this point, it amazed the young man.
Because if it was him, perhaps he would have already lost his mind and would have done everything he could to bring back the dead.
However, that would go against the laws of nature.
Maybe the heavens would punish him and never would he even have the chance to see Idris for the second time.
But Idris chose to wait.
And look for him.
The young man subconsciously tightened his hold around the horns, his heart stung and touched from the mere thought of it. Despite how long he needed to endure, Idris had waited for him. Idris had searched for him without stop.
And... his husband succeeded.
He had walked an arduous path, endured the pain that came along with immortality, and remained clear of his goal. Whenever Ijekiel thinks about the struggles his husband faced, he couldn't help but regret.
If he had been more obedient, more cautious, and a little less stubborn back then, he and Idris wouldn't have to be separated by life and death.
Ijekiel must have been too deep in his thoughts because he didn't even realize when Idris changed back into his elf disguise and carried him in his arms. When Ijekiel raised his gaze, he found his husband looking down at him with worry.
