Chapter 19
"You should eat your breakfast first before taking your exams." Storm said on the other line. I nodded my head as if he can see me. My forehead creased when I couldn't find my hairbrush.
"I only ate bacon, hotdog and rice. I couldn't afford to eat plenty because I might get anxiety attack while taking my exams." I said before putting my phone in a loudspeaker. I rummaged through my bag and thankfully, I found what I've been looking for.
"Wow. I thought you only ate a slice of bread. That's good to hear though." Although I couldn't see him right now, I feel like he's giving me those one of his amused smiles. He's always been like that. Para bang araw-araw ay namamangha asiya sa mga bagay na normal niya lang namang nakikita sa akin.
"I am quite nervous right now but I do think I'll pass this." Pag-amin ko sa kaniya.
Today is our last day in taking our board exams. I went here in Manila five days before the first exam. Actually, I spent my three months here in Manila as I enrolled myself in a review center. Luckily, I was with my friends, Jax and Johaness, so I didn't feel left out. I am currently sleeping in Storm's condo kasi malapit lang ito sa paggaganapan ng exam namin. Of course, staying here is not for free. I insisted to pay for him but Storm being Storm, he refused to accept my payment but beats me, he couldn't argue with me for too long so in the end, he accepted the money and he used that to donate some foods to the street children.
"I love your confidence but I love you more." He replied and in an instant, I felt my blood raised towards my face. He has been courting me for more than a year now yet we're not yet together. Ilang beses ko na rin siyang sinabihan na hindi naman niya kailangang hintayin ako. I was also honest to him about my feelings and he said that as long as I like him, then that's enough for him.
"Is that your way of encouragement?" Tanong ko habang tinitingnan kung dala ko na ba lahat ng mga kakailanganin ko.
"No. I was just telling the truth. You deserve honesty and assurance so I'm giving it all to you." Ngumiwi ako ngunit kalauna'y napangiti na rin. Napalingon ako sa pinto nang may marinig akong nag buzz. Dala-dala ang cellphone ko ay naglakad ako papunta doon at bago ko binuksan ang pinto ay sumilip muna ako sa peephole.
"Who's that?" Tanong ni Storm at marahil ay narinig niya ang pag bell sa labas.
"You asshole!" Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko dahil sa gulat. Nang sumilip kasi ako sa peephole ay wala naman akong nakita at nang akmang iaalis ko na ang mata ko mula roon ay bumulagta naman sa akin ang nanlalaking mga mata ni Johaness.
"What happened?" Napatingin ako sa cellphone ko nang marinig ang pag-aalala sa boses ni Storm. He turned on his video chat kaya agad akong napangisi nang makita siya. He's currently driving at kahit na maaga pa naman ay papunta na siya sa trabaho niya. He's wearing a white long sleeve polo shirt and he folded the sleeves up to his elbow and his hair is neatly combed. He looks dashing.
Alas otso pa ang pasukan nila at alas syete pa lang ng umaga ngunit sinabi niyang kailangan niyang pumunta ng maaga dahil naghihintay na sa kaniya doon ang tatay niya.
Binuksan ko ang pinto at agad na bumungad sa akin ang natatawang mukha ni Johaness. Sa likod niya ay si Jax na tila nagbabasa sa maliit na notebook niya. Binatukan ko si Johaness at natatawang inakbayan naman niya ako. I turned on my camera at saktong paglingon ni Storm sa cellphone niya ay agad niya kaming nakita ni Johaness.
"You're clingy." Kunot noong pagpuna ni Storm nang makitang nakaakbay sa akin si Johaness.
"Selos ka lang." Pang-aasar pa ng kaibigan ko kaya agad ko siyang siniko sa kaniyang tagiliran.
