"Welcome to Grimswood, the home of my people," Ava said proudly.
Grimswood, a fortress hidden from society. It had tall diamond shaped buildings and beautiful blue gardens that spread across the land. Not one soul that lived there had seen the outside world. All they knew was Grimswood, a place filled with people of simplicity.
Children were running up and down the streets, chasing each other in a game of tag; while their fathers were hard at work sculpting statues and forging tools for work. The ladies of the city were tending to their gardens that sat at the end of the city.
They took Mackenzie to a two story building that rested near the entrance of the wall. Athena and William stood on the outside, listening to Mackenzie's screams that echoed inside the building. Ava joins them afterward, wiping away the blood from her hands. "He should be fine," she assured them. "Raw Hubspur always does the trick."
"Wouldn't that pain him more?" William asked.
"Yes," Ava admitted. "It stings like hot peppers. The remedy that I mixed weren't effective. He would be dead if I hadn't done what I did."
"Can we see him?" Athena asked.
"Maybe later," Ava promised. "He'll soon fall asleep."
"When will we meet the City's Master?" Athena wanted to know.
"Soon," Ava admitted. "Why don't the two of you walk with me?" she then suggested.
"What can you tell us about Morgon?" William was curious, trailing behind as she walked.
"The Conjurer Morgon, casted the first stone in this city. During the Great War, his people fled from their homes in Hesinberg, fleeing from the Dark One. Morgon made the forest to protect us from the dangers that lies outside these walls."
"Does this mean the forest is cursed?" he asked.
"It is," she confessed. "In the night, the trees comes to life and the creatures along with it. It was strange that the Boar attacked you and your friends. The animals of the forest usually sleep during the day and remain awake at night."
"Tell me, where can I find Morgon?" Athena asked in a polite manner.
"I do not know. No one has seen him, not for years anyway."
"Does anyone have an idea where I can find him?"
"Yes, my father Angus might know. He was the last person who saw Morgon."
"And where can we find your father?" William asked curious.
Ava points the nicest and tallest building in the city. It was a place fit for a God. "Over there," she said.
"Can you please take us there?" the Goddess asked.
"I can't say no to the Goddess of Wisdom," Ava replied with a gentle smile stuck to her face.
She took them to her father's home, waiting in his vast hall awaiting his presence. The room was big enough to fill a thousand men, though only a handful of guards stood guarding the entrances. The ceiling held paintings of the Great War, depicting the epic battle with the race of Immortal Men fighting alongside with King Valgorn. Side by side they stood to overthrow their common enemy. They fought in their silver armours and on their heads were helmets made in the shape of a phoenix head. On their backs they wore a purple cape, the colour of their house. Their silver blue hair drenched in blood and their eyes blue as the sky above.
The battlefield was scattered with corpses piling one on top the other, thousands after thousands. Horrible creatures were lying dead beneath their feet, with the Queen of Immortals standing victorious over them. Dragons flew in the sky, spewing fire on the sons of men. On the other side of the ceiling, King Valgorn were seen slaying a dragon, piercing it's heart as it laid on the ground.
