Mackenzie Chapter 38

"I don't believe Hera made this up," Hades confessed as he stared into his sons eyes. "She was always clever but not as bright as she'd want you to think.

"I believe her," Mackenzie told him. "I'm right back where I began. I have no weapon and perhaps no future with a woman who understands me."

"You've never needed any weapon, you have my blood and your mother's strength. You can change the world with that."

"I know."

After his conversation with his father had ended the doors had opened and Mackenzie came out. When all of his friends had seen him they were happy. Victor kept his eyes on Mackenzie and he notices that there was no sign of the bracer. As soon as he stepped out from the cave it closed shut. Mackenzie took a long deep breath before approaching all of them.

"Where is it?" Victor asked.

"There was none," Mackenzie replied. "It was all a lie. Hera trapped me so that she can have the chance to kill me."

William approached him and places his hand over his shoulders while Mackenzie seemed lost in words. "What should we do now?" the King of Valgorn asked.

"For now I suggest you take me home to Laveth. I can't be with the woman I want, so there's no point in returning to Alenore. I can't risk her life when any minute I could lose mine. It's not fair to her."

Before they all sat sail, Amos approached them and he looked cleaner than everyone amongst him. "Where were you?" Ava asked.

"Funny story actually, while I was walking around I saw another waterfall, so I decide to have a bath and I hadn't bathe in quite a while so it took me a bit longer to get the mock off. So did you get the bracer?"

They all wanted to call him a particular word but they said nothing for it would be wasting precious time which they have wasted quite a lot. They sat sail trying their best to forget their journey. There wasn't much talking or laughter on their way there, only silence and the whistling of the breeze.
