First years were in their Potions class under the school chatting until Professor Snape walks in unannounced.

''There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few...'' he said, looking at Malfoy ''Who processes the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death. Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not...pay...attention.''

Hermione and Harry looked up at Snape, who was looking at them the entire time after a few looks at Malfoy. ''Mr. Potter and Ms. Granger. Our...new...celebrities.'' Snape said, disgusted, ''Tell me, Mr. Potter, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?''

Hermione's hand went up as Harry began to speak, ''It makes a sleeping potion so powerful, it is known as the Draught of Living Death.''

''You were lucky, Potter.'' Snape sneered, and asked Hermione a different question ''Where, Ms. Granger, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?''

At that, Harry shot his hand up, but Hermione was quick for that question from Snape. She answered, ''A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat, and it will save us from most poisons.'' Which surprised Snape because he was looking at the future James and Lily Potter in his eyes.

''Hmph...'' wondered Snape. ''Okay, one more question, and this time, either you two could answer. What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?''

''They are the same plant, and it also goes by the name of aconite,'' they said, simultaneously at Snape

''Well, why aren't you all copying this down?'' yelled Snape, and the first years wrote down what he'd said to Hermione and Harry. ''And Gryffindors, note that five points will be added to your house... for your classmates' knowledge.''

At lunch, Seamus is trying a spell on a glass of water. ''Eye of rabbit, harp string hum. Turn this water into rum,'' he said, looking at the cup, shaking his head in displeasure, and tried the spell again.

''What's Seamus trying to do with that glass of water?'' Harry asked Neville

''Turn it into rum.'' he answered ''Actually managed to make ta yesterday, before-''

An explosion came out of Seamus' cup, which landed on his face leaving black marks on it. Immediately, feathered owls came flying down with papers attached to their claws.

''Ah. Mail's here,'' said Neville as owls are flying down, dropping newspapers and letters outside of Hogwarts. Both Harry and Hermione didn't get anything, and they spotted a newspaper right by Neville's side.

''Can I borrow this?'' Harry asked, and Neville nods ''Thanks.''

Neville unwraps his gift, and he pulls out a clear glass ball with a gold banner around the middle.

''Hey, look!'' said a Gryffindor boy named Dean Thomas ''Neville's got a Remembrall!''

''I've read about those,'' said Hermione looking at Neville's Rememberall, turning into a scarlet red colour. ''When the smoke turns red, it means you've forgotten something.''

''The only problem is, I can't remember what I've forgotten,'' said Neville looking at the Remembrall again.

Harry was reading the newspaper, The Daily Prophet, before turning to Hermione. ''Hey, Hermione,'' Harry said to her, and she turned towards Harry, looking at the newspaper with him.

''Someone broke into Gringotts?'' questioned Hermione and Harry nodded

''Listen to this.'' said Harry, and he read the following article, ''Believed to be the work of dark witches or wizards unknown, Gringotts goblins, while acknowledging the breach, insist that nothing was taken.''

''The vault in question, number 713, had in fact been emptied earlier that same day.'' entered Hermione, cutting off Harry. ''That's odd. That's the vault you, me, and Hagrid went into.''

''I know, and I bet that there's something with that bag a dark wizard would like to have,'' said Harry, heading off to his next class, followed closely by Hermione.
