Regis and Kelly Part I

Dateline: November 15th, 2001

Regis: Ladies and Gentleman, from Harry Potter and Hermione Granger: The Sorcerer's Stone, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson!

(both enter the studio)

Regis: Why do I want to call these kids Harry and Hermione? I just can't stop. Nice to have you here, kids.

Kelly: You two are terrific!

Regis: And what a ball these kids are having. They're 11 and 12 years old; they're taking New York by storm! First time in the city, right?

Daniel: Yeah.

Regis: You went to see the producers the other night?

Emma: So funny.

Regis: You like that, huh? What else have you two done? There's the Empire State Building up there. You've got to see that.

Daniel: That was really, really cool, and FAO Schwarz, which was really cool.

Kelly: Did you see the action figures of yourselves there?

Emma: Yeah, that was weird. I saw ourselves in LEGO form.

Regis: Have you ever had the chance to watch American television some things that you like about our TV?

Daniel: I haven't really had a chance to watch much TV.

Regis: I understand; you love WWF wrestling.

Daniel: I haven't had a chance to watch it quite as much recently, but before Harry and Hermione, I was absolutely obsessed.

Kelly: Really?

Regis: And The Simpsons?

Emma: He's still obsessed with them.

Regis: So 12 and 11 years old, now have you had much acting experience before this?

Daniel: I did David Copperfield for the BBC and The Tailor of Panama as well. Emma hasn't had much acting experience, but she did some plays beforehand at school.

Kelly: Have you seen the film more than once? Do you go back over and over again because my son wants to see it over and over again because he thinks he can levitate things and make me disappear?

(audience laughs)

Emma: We've seen it four times, and we both enjoyed it just as much, every time.

Regis: Do you know who we've had on the show? Richard Harris.

Daniel and Emma: Really?

Regis: Yeah.

Daniel: He's- he's cool.

Regis: Yeah. Was he nice to you? Did you go along okay with Richard?

Emma: He has because he's like been doing so many films, he's got really fantastic stories I mean, he's amazing.

Kelly: Did you get very nervous working with him?

Emma: Not really because he kind of make you feel pretty relaxed, so he's really nice.

Regis: That's great. Now, there are more Harry and Hermione films coming out, right? How many more?

Emma: Basically, we're just doing the first two for now, and we'll see how it goes from there.

Kelly: Did you read the books? Did you know the characters of Harry and Hermione?

Regis: Very smart.

(audience laughs)

Regis: Give them two. What are they gonna come up with? Another Harry and Hermione?

(audience laughs)

Kelly: That's when they move in for the kill.

Regis: Oh, you want me again? Yeah, little Daniel Radcliffe and little Emma Watson's got it all figured out.

Kelly: All right, at 12 and 11.

Regis: Yeah, that's how exactly how I would handle it. I'll tell you that. Well, that's terrific, so you're on your way. Now, have you been out to Hollywood?

Daniel: Well, Emma wants to see some friends, and it's just amazing. It's cool. America's less wrinkled, you know?

(audience claps)

Regis: Well, do you have a girlfriend?

Daniel: Um... Yes, surprisingly.

Regis: Can you tell us about it?

Emma: No, he can't say the name because it's under the contract that we can't say who we are dating.

Regis: Well, hopefully, after all of this is done, I'm pretty sure that you'll find the one in your life, little Daniel. Well, shall we?

(Regis drops his papers)

Regis: I dropped that.

(Dan gets out of his seat.)

Regis: No, you don't have to get it. No, no, Harry, Harry, No!

(hands the papers to Regis)

Kelly: I wanted him to levitate that.

Regis: Did you see what happened? Not only did he bend down and pick up the card, he levitated me.

(audience laughs)

Regis: All right now, here's the- here's a clip with you and your best friend there, who just so happens to be sitting right next to you, Hermione or Miss Emma Watson herself. And what's happening here?

Daniel: I think it's the one where we get the Invisibility Cloak.

(Clip: Harry saw a note on one of the presents under the tree, and it was a light-silver package laying on top of Harry and Hermione's other presents. He took the letter from the packaging and began to read, ''Your Father left this in my possession before he died. It is time it was returned to you. Use it well.''

Harry was confused as he looked up at her; she shrugged her shoulders, thinking the same, confusing expression that Harry had. His thoughts pondered on who wrote him that letter, but he would leave his thoughts for another time as he unwrapped the string on the silver packaging. Inside was a blanket-like object as Hermione looked at him, confused at the thought.

''What is it?'' she said.

''It's some kind of cloak,'' he said, looking down at the cloak.

''Well, let's see then, put it on.''

Harry followed her orders, and he wrapped the cloak around his shoulders, making his entire appearance disappear before Hermione's eyes.

''Whoa! Harry, that's brilliant!'' she exclaimed. ''With that Invisibility Cloak, we could sneak down to the Restricted Section tonight for more information on Nicholas Flamel.''

''Wait, I'm invisible?'' he said, bemused

''Yes! They're really rare! But, who gave it to you?''

''There was no name. It just said use it well.'')

Kelly: Don't you wish you had an Invisibility Cloak?

Emma and Dan: Yeah.

Regis: Well, you two are going to make magic bigger than it ever was, and it's always been big. It's terrific. All right, so Harry Potter and Hermione Granger: The Sorcerer's Stone is out in the theatres right now, and these are the kids to did it all, Daniel and Emma, thank you very much.

(audience applauds)
