Chapter 45: Another Human Killed

   " Welcome! My home is your home! "

We walked through a piece of the wall and on the other side it looked to be a living room. The furniture was clean and I could see the front door from the open way in the wall. Benjamin walked through first with Jin following and I came behind him. Benjamin grabbed the wall and pulled it closed. When I looked back at the wall, there was no sign of it being a fake. 

   " Margret, I'm home! "

   " I'm in the kitchen! "

   " Follow me. "

We followed Bejamin's lead into the kitchen and standing in the middle was a woman putting a pie on the table. The woman was short and plump but she held a sweet smile on her lips. When she set the pie on the table she turned towards us, and the sweet smile only widened.

   " Welcome home honey! Is this the famous Jin I've been hearing about? "

   " Yes, ma'am. I'm sorry for the intrusion. "

   " It's fine. Benjamin here talks about how you two stuck together in the rebellion. "

   " We did. If one of us went somewhere the other would follow. "

   " I'm glad Benjamin found someone like you to stick with him. "

   " I'm glad to have him. I haven't introduced you to my fiance. This is Y/n Qiqiang, my fiance. "

   " Usually the wife would receive the last name after the marriage wouldn't they? "

   " Yes, but seeing the situation we are stuck in, I thought it would be best to go ahead and give her my name and after everything has calmed down we'll get married. "

   " How sweet! My name is Mary. It'll be nice to have another lady to talk to. "

   " It's nice to meet you, Mary. " You said.

   " Well, Y/n, I'm going to steal your fiance from you for a moment. We've got some business to talk about. " Benjamin said putting his arm around Jin's shoulders.

   " Go ahead. I needed a break from him. "

   " Wow! Honey I'm hurt. " Jin said clutching his chest.

You kissed his cheek and ushered him away. Benjamin and Jin left the kitchen and you stayed with Mary. You walked over to Mary and sat down on a stool at the island.

   " Don't worry, dearie. They're talking about what happened in the rebellion. Those two made themselves famous among the others. With Jin being so close to the king he was an important piece to everyone in the rebellion. Benjamin also knows how to get everywhere around any city. He can tell where the closest hiding spot is and he's a good archer. "

   " I didn't know they were so important. "

   " They were, and they stayed together during their time there. And they made names for themselves. They recruited people and protected those who couldn't protect themselves. "

   " Really? "

   " Yes, and Benjamin has been itching to talk to Jin about his new bow along with where their other friends are located at. "

   " I see. If you don't mind me asking, where did you two meet? "

   " I was working in a bakery when he came in and he was stabbed. The king's swordsman found him stealing, but he ran into my bakery. I hid him at the last minute and they never suspected me. "

   " Why did you hide him? "

   " Let me answer your question with another question. WHy do people steal in the first place? "

   " Because they see something that can get them money if they sell it. "

   " That's not the answer I was exactly looking for. They steal, because they don't have the means to survive. EVerything in the world runs on money, and if you don't have any you're as good as dead if you don't steal. So, they steal to survive. "

   " And you didn't think he would harm you? "

   " He was injured. He couldn't touch me if he wanted to. The next day he came back in and thanked me. We continued talking after that and he bought me gifts. Of course, he got a job after some time and that's how he bought the gifts. "

   " How do you know he didn't give you someone else's things? "

    "I always knew if what he gave me was someone else's. Especially jewelry. Inside of the jewelry someone's initials was somewhere on the objects. I would find them and give them back to him. I told him numerous amounts if times that I didn't want something that he didn't buy or earned. I didn't want something stolen. "

   " So, did he stop stealing? "

   " He did. He proposed later on and we got this house. He still knows the secret passageways in the city but he stoled stealing things a long time ago because of me. "

   " Well, congratulations. "

   " I love being his wife. He's very sweet and kind to me. He can also protect me if something ever occurs. I'm a very lucky woman. "

   " I feel the same way when I think about my relationship with Jin. "

   " When you become his wife and have kids, you'll look back and wonder where the time went and how everything happened. "

   " Kids? Do you have children?"

   " Not, yet. "

She put her hand on her belly and rubbed her stomach. It was then I realized why she was so plump; she was pregnant. 

   " Oh, my-congratulations! "

   " Thank you. I'm very excited to be a mother. "

   " You're not nervous? "

   " Oh, I'm definitely nervous, but that comes with every pregnancy. "

You continued to chat with Mary in the kitchen with Jin and Benjamin talking in the next room, about their old pals in the rebellion. All seemed peaceful in the house. In Madrathia Quinn was sitting on his throne looking at the key that locked and unlocked your cell. He didn't want to part with it, not until you got back. 

   " Your majesty? "

Quinn looked up and saw his advisor in front of him. He had multiple papers in his hands, and he flinched when the king's eyes looked at him. His eyes seemed a little dull and bloodlusted.

   " Yes? "

   " We've found her. "

   " Then, take her and bring her back home. "

   " Right away. "

   " And Quintin? "

   " Yes, your majesty? "

Quinn stood up and walked to the man who never questioned him. He was close and was an arm's length away from Quintin Trembley.

   " You should have known what I would have said. You just waited a couple of minutes, by coming here and asking for my permission instead of retrieving her. "

   " But your majesty, your father always-"

   " Enough. "

Quintin felt something speed by the side of his neck very quickly. THen after the heat left he felt pain. Quintin fell to the floor holding the side of his neck, which was bleeding profusely. 

   Those are minutes that she's not here. "

Quinn sliced his sword through the neck of his advisor. The head rolled on the floor away from the body and his limbs hit the floor.

   " Someone clean this up! "

A couple of maids ran to the throne room and started cleaning. Before they took the papers away, Quinn grabbed them and read over the information that his advisor had found. 

   " So, that's where you are. "
