Chapter 53: Hide and Seek

The wedding was only three days away, and everything around the palace started to get tense. The servants were running around getting the preparations ready and none of them took a break. They all continued to work until their jobs for the day were done. Quinn wasn't acting his best either. When something wasn't right he would yell at the staff to fix it. He never hurt them like his father but he would yell so loud that everyone in the hall could hear it. The wedding would take place in the palace gardens at night. Special guests from other kingdoms would be attending and some important figures from the village would be there as well. Everyone accepted the invitations, but there was one person that didn't want to be at the wedding; you. You were walking through the halls trying to avoid the ground floor, where the garden was, and instead walked around the palace.

   ' I don't want to be near the garden. I feel like I'm going to puke if I see those decorations. And I can't go see Jin. The guards would probably inform Quinn that I went to see him and he'll suspect something. I have two options to get out of the wedding, and I need to be careful which one I pick. '

You walked into the library and walked down the many rows of books. You found a row deep in the library and sat on the floor, leaning against the tall bookshelf. You pulled your knees to your chest and laid your arms on top of your knees, and your head on your arms.

   ' One could be an easy way to get out but the other could mean I run into death. Benjamin may know his way around Chevalier, but will he know his way around Madrathia? Then there's Elina. She's sending a very skilled guard to save me, but I'll be separated from Jin if I don't go with Benjamin. And it could cause some kind of controversy that a knight of the Prosan empire took away the future queen of Madrathia. There's so much I need to think about before even picking someone to save me. And on top of that, the wedding is in three days, including today. I don't have that much time. '

I felt pressure start developing in my head and I knew that I was getting a pressure headache. I heard the doors to the library open and shut. The sound of a click brought my head out of my arms, and I stood from the ground.

   " Y/n~"

   ' Quinn. . .'

   " Where are you, my star? The maids said they saw you come in here. Please come out. "

   ' No. '

I walked away from the bookshelf and started walking through the maze of books so I could avoid him. The library started to feel a lot bigger now that I was avoiding someone. I could hear footsteps walking around the library because of the click of his heels. 

   " Star~ oh where could you be? "

His voice vibrated off the walls and I felt my adrenaline pick up as I continued to walk through the shelves and looking around the corners for Quinn. I couldn't see him but the click of his shoes sounded close. I turned around another corner and tried making my way back to the front to leave the library.

   " So, hide and seek eh? When I find you I better get a reward for catching you. "

I looked around the bookcase and saw a foot step out of the row of shelves. I went back around the corner and waited until the clicking of his shoes got farther away. I could hear my heart beating in my ears, as I glanced around the corner again. I didn't see him and I slowly stepped away from the bookcase and walked to the other one. I walked slowly to get to the front, and when I looked at the end of the bookshelves, I could spot the couches and piano. I was getting closer to the entrance. I reached the end of the bookshelf and looked around the corner and behind myself. Quinn was nowhere in sight so I left the bookshelf and walked to the door to the library. I grabbed the handle and tried to open the door but it was locked. I tried tugging on it again, but the door wouldn't budge.

   ' Damn it, he locked the door. '

I let go of the door and stepped away from it. I felt hands being placed on my hips and I was pulled further away from the door and my back hit a chest.

   " I found you~ " Quinn whispered in my ear.

   " Y-Yeah, you found me. Can you open the door now? "

   " Aww but what about my prize? "

   " Prize? "

   " I get a prize fo finding you, and I want my prize. "

   " I don't have anything to give to you. "

   " Well, of course, you do wifey. "

I didn't know what he was talking about until his hands slid up and down my waist until they rested back on my hips. I knew my face paled at that moment and my legs felt a little weak. 

   " No. "

   " No? "

   " No, you're not doing that to me. "

   " Aww but it's going to happen one way or another. Don't you know what happens on the honeymoon? "

   " And that doesn't happen until the honeymoon. "

   " Sometimes it does. So, why not now? "

   " Because I don't want to. Now unlock the door so I can leave! "

   " No, I don't think I will. "

I felt a kiss being placed on my neck. Following that were many more kisses on my neck. I struggled against his arms, but he held me firmly against him. 

   " Stop! Stop! "

   " Aww, my little star, it's hard to restrain myself you know. You're just so irresistible. "

I felt my feet be taken off the floor and I was being pulled away from the door. I struggled to get away from Quinn, but his grip was tight. I knew there would be bruise marks on my hips later. I looked behind me to see where Quinn was taking me and I could see he was heading towards one of the loveseats. The loveseat matched the design of the library and I sat in it many times to read. It was comfortable and soft, but now I only looked at the couch in fear. I looked back at the door hoping someone would think it was weird that the door was locked, and they would unlock it, but then a thought came to me.

   ' They won't help me. He's the king they know that if they help me he's going to punish them. They'll just shut the door and leave. '

My back was placed on the loveseat and Quinn was above me. His hands pinned my arms to the couch and his knees were trying to push my knees apart. The couch fit us both and then some. I looked in his blue eyes and saw the lust that swirled in the pools of ice blue. I could feel my heart pounding in my ears again and I wanted to scream for help, but I know I wouldn't be helped. Quinn leaned down to my ear and whispered,

   " Let's have our honeymoon a little early, star. And let's finish what you started in that cell that time ago. "
