(A/N: I am so sorry that this has taken so long to publish but I have had exams. I don't know how often I will be able to post so thank you for being patient. Don't hesitate if you have a request to let me know. It may take some time, but I will get a round to it. I hope you like this one shot.)

My father has always judged me growing up. The judgement only got worse when I got put into Gryffindor. That's why I dare not tell my parents that I have a boyfriend in Gryffindor. Let alone a Weasley. Before I went to Hogwarts I used to have the same views as my parents that blood purity mattered. Calling the Weasleys blood traitors. That was until I befriended Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter. As a Malfoy, I was always under the close eye of my twin brother Draco. This lead to me being left out of my friends adventures. However, they always told me stories of what they got up to and for me I was just happy to be included at all. Being a Malfoy was never easy especially as the first Gryffindor in my family. So, when Ron asked me out on a date during the first term of third year I could hardly refuse. Everything was going well until the Yule Ball to celebrate the Triwizard Tournament.

So my brother didn't find out about me and Ron we decided to go as a friendship group. Harry would do the first dance with Parvati Patil then join me and Ron. Hermione however was going with Viktor Krum. Only I knew this as with him being a world famous quidditch star, many people were craving his attention. We had everything planned, Ron would ask me to dance but so would Harry and then I would dance with Hermione. This was to ensure that Draco wouldn't find out I was dating Ron.

I wanted more than anything to tell him. Despite him bullying my friends and the differences we have had in the past; he is still my twin brother and I hated lying to him.

The night of the ball finally arrived, and I couldn't be more excited. Me and Hermione were in our shared dorm getting ready.

"Can you believe the ball is finally here?" She asked me.

"No, I am so excited. For one night I don't have to hide my relationship with Ron." I smiled dreamily. I was so happy and sure that this night would go perfectly.

"I am so happy for you Y/N. You two deserve this."

When me and Hermione were finally done we both left the dormitory at the same time and then descended the staircase. I saw Ron's mouth drop when he saw me and that made me smile.

"Ready Weasley?" I asked him.

"Absolutely" He replied, eyes still wide. I grinned and took his arm as we went in.

After the champions had the traditional first dance, Harry and Parvati joined me and Ron. Not long after Hermione and Krum came and sat with us. For the majority of the evening, we switched with dancing with one another and talking. It honestly was amazing. About an hour before the ball was due to end a slow song was played. A big contrast from the upbeat music a few minutes ago. Like a gentleman, Ron offered me a dance. I gladly accepted and took his hand to the dance floor. We saw Ginny and Neville dancing as well which annoyed Ron and caused him to warn Neville. Poor boy looked terrified.

Ron spun me around and put his hand back on my waist. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my angry twin brother making his way over to us. Before I had time to warn Ron what was going on I felt Draco grabbing my arm and dragging me away from Ron.

"Oi Malfoy, get off her!" Ron yelled at my brother, but Draco ignored him and carried on dragging me until we were outside of the Hall.

"What the Hell were you doing with Weasley?" He questioned.

"I was dancing with him until you caused a scene. You know that I am friends with him!" I yelled back.

"You were too close to be just friends." Draco stated calmly. At that point Ron, Harry and Hermione came out of the hall. Draco went up to Ron, getting in his face.

"Stay away from my sister Weasley or our father will hear about it." Draco hissed.

"Draco stop it!" I yelled. Draco turned his attention back on me.

"What do you expect me to do Y/N. Let this slide?" he questioned.

"Yes!"

"Why?"

"Because I love him!" I said before I realised. Draco's eyes widened.

"I can't believe this. My sister is a blood traitor." Draco spat. Ron then jumped in front of me. Him and Draco started fighting. I ran away in tears with Hermione following. I ran past Fred and George with their dates, who wanted to know what's wrong but not a second later they saw Ron and Draco fighting. Hermione carried on following me until I got to our dorm. I cried all night in her arms.

The next morning at breakfast I saw Ron with bandages wrapped around his hand and wrist. I also saw Draco with a black and blue, swollen nose. I smiled to myself knowing what Ron had done for me. I sat down at breakfast and started to cheer up. Draco hadn't made a comment so that had to be good. Right?

Soon the mail came, and I saw my family's owl come towards me with a red letter. I immediately knew that was a Howler and braced myself for the worst. I open the letter with shaking hands. I could feel everyone's eyes on me.

"Y/N MALFOY. HOW DARE YOU DATE A BLOOD TRAITOR. WE RAISED YOU TO BE BETTER THAN THAT. THIS IS THE LAST STRAW YOUNG LADY. I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO MAKE YOU SEE THE RIGHT WAY OF LIFE AND GAVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME AND YOUR MOTHER. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISSAPOINTED. YOU ARE NO LONGER MY DAUGHTER. DON'T BOTHER COMING HOME THIS SUMMER, YOU WILL NOT BE LET IN."

The letter then tore itself up. I felt all eyes on me still but the ones burning the back of my head were my brothers. I turned to look at him and I could see that he was sorry for telling our parents. I got up from the breakfast table and ran out of the Great Hall. Once I got to the common room I saw that Ron, Harry and Hermione all followed me. Ron wrapped his arms around me.

"I am so sorry Y/N. If it weren't for me then you would never had been disowned." He said. I just hugged him back as I cried.

"It's not your fault Ron. I am sorry my Father called you a blood traitor." I whispered.

"Look at this, she gets disowned and is apologising to me!" Ron joked and I giggled.

"Don't worry Y/N/N, you can come live with me." Hermione offered.

"Thank you so much Mione." I smiled back at her.

"Well, I would offer you to come live with me, but I doubt Uncle Vernon would want another house guest." Harry joked. I laughed at that.

Me and my friends sat in the common room for a while longer. As it was Christmas Day I went to go upstairs to get everyone's presents. Before I got to the stairs, Ron turned me around and kissed me passionately. I realised in that moment that even though my biological family had disowned me, my real family was right in front of me.
