Next morning the alarm ringing at 5:30 in the morning. Before Manik could reach his hand to switch it off, Nandini beat him to it. She turned off the alarm and hugged him close to his chest.

"So jao" she mumbled and palmed his eyes. He pulled her close and sighed deeply. After couple of minutes, after patting Manik's head Nandini gently freed herself from his tight grip and patted his head when he stirred a little.

It was his first day at work and she wanted to do something special for him. Freshening up to get rid of her sleep, Nandini took his clothes that she had selected for him and ironed them first. She then moved to the dresser and took out his wallet, his car keys a hand kerchief and kept it with the rest of his stuff. Nandini tip toed downstairs and found Dj in the puja room and Nyonika and Raj in the living room. Nyonika was sipping her coffee and Raj was reading the newspaper.

"Good morning Mom and Dad" she said and hugged them placing a kiss on their cheeks. Nyonika cupped her cheek and asked lovingly

"Why are you up so early Nandu? You don't even have your classes today, they start next Monday naa?" she said and Nandini smiled.

"Yes Mom, they start next week, but today is Manik's first day, so I thought I will make something special for him. Can I ?" she asked cutely, making Raj and Nyonika smile.

"You don't have to ask beta... carry on" she said patting her cheeks making Nandini smile widely.

"Thanks maa" Nandini placed a kiss on her cheek and ran into the kitchen. She kept her hands on her waist and started thinking everything that she could cook. She wanted to cook something, but she also wanted to make something edible.

She wanted to make a healthy and heavy breakfast for him as it was going to be a long day. she quickly prepared some oats, prepared a banana smoothie. She topped the oats with nuts and his favourite fruits. She poured the banana smoothie into a disposable sipper and added ice cubes and left it in the fridge. She made his favourite coffee and made a cup for herself as well.

Taking the coffee cups and oats bowl, putting it in a tray, she moved to their room. Manik was sitting on the bed looking around and his eyes immediately moved to Nandini, a small smile playing on his lips, which converted into a frown instantly.

"Where were you? Why are you up so early? And what's that in your hand?" he showered her with questions.

"Uffo mera monster is up" Nandini ignore all his questions and moved towards the table in the room. Placing the tray there, confusing Manik, she finally moved towards him. Cupping his face, she kissed his forehead.

"Good Morning Manik. Please freshen up fast, I made breakfast for you today" she said with a wide smile. Manik's eyes widened in shock and surprise.

First he pinched on her arm making her wince and before she could hit him back, he said loudly

"You cooked? Nandu baby, you know naa ki today is my first day. You sure you want me to eat that before joining the hospital on my first day? Its going to be a long day baby!" he said chuckling nervously. She crossed her hands on her chest narrowing her gaze.

"Manik" she said sternly and he got up from the bed. He hugged her and inhaled deeply.

"I'm nervous" he said and she tightened her hug.

"Everything will be perfect, just do your best. You are my rockstar, you will rock it" she said looking up at him and smiled brightly, making the same reflect on his face as well.
