When Nandini woke up after couple of hours, she saw the familiar ceiling and sighed in relief. She was in her home. But how did she reach here? Nandini tried to get up, but her head was hurting and she winced in pain. Nyonika who was sitting next to the bed, got up and moved to Nandini.

"Beta, how are you feeling now?" she asked worriedly and Nandini spoke nothing but hugged Nyonika and started crying.

"Nandu, bacha why are you crying? Is it hurting somewhere? Should I call Manik?" she said patting Nandini's head, but Nandini nodded her head in a No.

"Please tell me what happened?" she asked softly caressing her hair and Nandini hiccupped.

"Maa, I got so scared, so so scared" Nandini spoke hiccupping and Nyonika rubbed her back to calm Nandini, but it didn't work. Nandini started hyperventilating scaring Nyonika.

"Maa, Papa, Manik, Raj, someone come here" she shouted trying to calm Nandini, but nothing seemed to work. Nandini started breathing heavily and fainted in Nyonika's arms once again. The door busted open and, Manik and Mukti walked in looking frantic.

"Manik, she fainted again. She woke up, then started crying, then she said that she was scared, then she started breathing heavily, and then she fainted again" Nyonika spoke sobbing hugging Manik. He broke the hug, sat next to Nandini on the bed and checked her pulse holding her wrist. He checked her pupils and sighed.

"Mom, she had a panic attack again. Let me attach the drips and give her the medicine to control her anxiety. She should be fine when she wakes up. Let me call one of my seniors from psychiatric department, they will check on her when she wakes up. I already spoke to Dadu, asking him to call someone to our house. It would be better if they talk to her before anyone of us do. We do not know what is triggering her panic attacks, but they can tell us." He said rubbing his face with his hands, trying to rub off the deep rooted sadness and the bubbling anger.

"Mukku, please get me the medical kit. Maa, you go and take rest, I will call you when she wakes up and is in a state to talk, it will take few hours though, so please don't worry, she is fine, she will be fine. You eat and take rest and tell Dadu and Dadi not to worry. I will take care of Nandu" he said caressing Nandini's cheeks with utmost care and love.

"Manik, you also take rest bacha. Don't worry, we all are with her. She is a fighter, she will be fine in no time" Nyonika said ruffling Manik's hair and kissed his forehead before walking out of the room. Manik bent down and kissed Nandini's forehead, and rested his head on her shoulder. A tear rolled down his cheek and soaked into her top. Hearing the door being opened, he got up and cleared his tears, before turning to Mukti.

"Mukku, change her clothes, make her wear one of my softest shirt and her loose shorts. Let her take rest comfortably, and burn her clothes once you take them off. I don't want Nandini to even see them again" Manik said the last line gritting his teeth. Mukti said nothing but nodded her head in a Yes and walked to their cupboard. Manik walked out of the room, meanwhile Mukti changed Nandini's clothes.

"Why didn't you tell any of us that you are suffering so much? I am so angry with you. I am not going to talk to you till you are fine." she whispered holding Nandini's hand, who was fast asleep with frowns decorating her forehead. She called Manik into the room and walked downstairs taking Nandini's clothes, to follow Manik's instructions.

Manik attached the saline drip to Nandini's left hand and injected the anxiety controlling medicine to the same. He trusted his Dadu's decision regarding Nandini's immediate course of treatment. Manik laid next to Nandini and held her close carefully. He just wanted to ensure his mind and heart that she was safe and sound in his arms.

"Beta, what are you doing?" Dadi asked horrified seeing Mukti burning Nandini's clothes in the backyard. Dadi who was extremely disturbed after knowing what happened to Nandini, decided to sit alone in their garden for sometime, when she noticed smoke coming from the other side. And when she reached there, she was beyond shocked seeing Mukti burning something, taking a closer look, she figured they were Nandini's clothes, that she wore that morning.

"Dadi, these are Nandu's clothes that she wore to college today. Bhai asked me to burn them, as he didn't want Nandini to see them, ever again" she spoke gritting her teeth and Dadi looked at her shocked.

"Beta, this..." she tried to say something but fell short of words.

"I wish I could also burn that bas*ard in this fire." Mukti spoke gritting her teeth.

"Mukti, don't say such things. He will be punished for what he has done, don't corrupt your mind with unnecessary thoughts" she said sternly and Mukti's gaze softened. She hugged Dadi and started crying

"Why dadi, why did Nandu have to suffer? Why didn't she tell any of us? What if something bad would have happened? What if Aryaman or Bhai weren't there to save her on time? I am unable to even think of those things. It is scaring me so much," she said hiccupping. Dadi rubbed her back hugging her scared granddaughter.

"Shh, calm down. don't think of what would have or could have happened. The good thing is that our Nandu is safe and sound in our house and that man behind bars. All we have to focus now is to help Nandini get better, back to her own self. That is all that matters now." She explained in a loving tone. Mukti broke the hug and wiped her tears and kissed Dadi's cheek making the elder woman smile in response.

Nyonika walked into Manik's room and hour later to check on her kids and smiled seeing Manik sleeping, keeping his head on Nandini's shoulder, holding her in a death grip. She kept the food plate that she brought with her on the side table and left the room, closing the door softly. Manik would eat when he wakes up, right now he needed some rest.******************
